“The Power of Social Media: Examining its Impact on Contemporary Society and the Role of Accountability”

Guidelines:
 For this assignment, you will develop your own topic, on an issue that has some
kind of social relevance and reflects a public discussion in contemporary society;
you should research relevant information and positions on the issue and elaborate
a view that expresses your take on it.
 Choose something that you are interested in and/or passionate about; it can be a
global debate/issue, or also a very local one. Whatever you choose, make sure you
then narrow it down to a manageable size for the paper you are writing.
 This project requires substantial research, and use of several appropriate
sources. You can use a mix of academic peer-reviewed sources and journalistic
ones, as appropriate to your specific topic. Get started early, so that you have
enough time to read, reflect, identify a specific topic, and develop your writing.
 You must list all materials you use/quote in an MLA-style bibliography at the
end and cite them correctly within your paper as you quote/paraphrase
them.
