Title: Qualitative Purpose Statement and Research Questions for Investigating the Impact of Social Media on Adolescent Mental Health

In
this assignment, you will continue the work you did in week 2, by
writing a qualitative purpose statement and qualitative research
question or questions that align with your topic and problem. Refer
closely to the advice given in the EdD Dissertation Content Support Guidelines.
Download EdD Dissertation Content Support Guidelines.
Restate your topic and problem from week 1, (we need to see alignment from
topic>>problem>>purpose>>research questions).
Begin the Purpose of the Study section with a succinct purpose
statement that identifies the ontological research paradigm/design and
the chosen method to explore the problem (identified above). For
example,
“The purpose of this sequential,
mixed-method program evaluation of [insert the specific program here,
but be sure to anonymize your research site. Do not identify a specific
place or school] is to . . . [describe the goal of the dissertation
study].” Provide a clear rationale as to why this purpose will answer
directly to the problem. Discuss the methods that will support this
design and help you collect data to answer your purpose and research
questions. Follow with a brief, but clear overview of how the study will
be conducted (what data sources will you use to explore the problem?).
Identify the materials and or constructs, participants, and research
location (note that the specific nature of the Purpose of the Study
section and thus the information presented in this section will vary
depending on the topic). (1 paragraph to 1 page maximum).
With respect to materials and constructs, briefly identify the
instruments, constructs, factors, and or data sources that are included
in the study. For participants, identify the specific sample and sample
size. Finally, for location, identify the site or sites where the
research was conducted (note that if the study utilized an Internet
hosted questionnaire, then this should be stated). Identify the study
site without compromising participant confidentiality and anonymity.  (1
paragraph to 1 page maximum).
The Purpose of the Study section should directly align with
the Introduction section, the Statement of the Problem section (i.e.,
the Purpose of the Study section must be a logical, explicit research
response to the stated problem), and the research questions (as noted in
the Bloomberg & Volpe texts and in the EdD Dissertation Content
Support Guidelines).
