Using your chosen topic from the Worship Study: Planning Assignment and using the
Worship Study Devotional Example document as a template, write your devotional. The
devotional should include:
a Title page
a Topic (selected in previous Worship Study Planning Assignment)
a Scripture reference/key verse
a Narrative introducing the topic and Scripture (150–200 words).
a Teaching Point that expounds on the Scripture passage(s) (300-350 words in length,
and quotes 2 scholarly sources that demonstrate research)
an Application that challenges your audience to consider the lyrics of the song and
reflect on at least 3 thought-provoking questions (75-100 words) a Response Song (traditional
hymn or modern worship song that relates to the devotional topic; provide lyrics) a Bibliography
page Your work should be geared toward your chosen demographic and written in a
semi-formal, grammatically correct narrative style. The devotional should contain a minimum of
1000 words (525 words from the narrative, teaching points, and application sections, plus your
Scripture passage, song lyrics, and bibliography) and have at least two citations from scholarly
sources that are formatted according to the Turabian Chart of Citations and the Turabian Format
Quick Guide, which are located in the Worship Study: Devotional Resources section of the
Worship Study: Devotional Assignment page. See below for examples of acceptable and
