Title: The Alchemy of Poetry in Ginsberg’s Howl

In Ginsberg’s Howl, the speaker is serving as a prophet, warning us of danger. Near the end of the first part of the poem, he describes poetry as a kind of alchemy, a magic process  for converting base metals into precious metals.
