Title: The Impact of Media on Society: Exploring Ethical and Social Responsibility Issues

Research Paper.
For the final paper, you will write a 15-page paper (including references) about issues related to media and society. The best strategy for writing a successful final paper is to read ahead in your textbook, or pick up on an issue arising during a lecture or documentary presentation: you want to answer a real (and interesting) question, so start thinking now. Please do not put yourself in a situation where you feel compelled to download ready material from the Internet.
Your chosen topic should relate to media and society. Do not choose extremely broad topics such as “violence on television” or “political bias in the news.” It is almost impossible to say anything significant on such topics in short papers. Examples of topics include:
Is Google and Verizon’s net neutrality proposal socially responsible;
How can Internet radio stations cope with copyright restrictions;
Do you believe that truth in advertising should be monitored and regulated;
How can consumers encourage television stations to report news instead of fluff and sound-bites;
How can movie critics write honest reviews for a newspaper owned by a conglomerate that also owns motion picture companies;
How does a motion picture producer cope with the ethics of product placement;
Or, far better, choose your own topic and discuss it with the instructor.
You will write the final paper using your sources of information (at least 7 citations required). You can use either MLA or APA style.
