or an annotated bibliography, you will not include your primary source. This is just a list of the research you are doing and an evaluation of the research.
Each potential source will be listed in MLA works cited entry format, and then there will be at 5 to 7 sentences of annotation under each entry. 3-4 sentences will be a summary of the main idea presented in the potential source. 2-3 sentences will be a discussion about how the source could be relevant to the paper. The following is an example of one annotated entry. Notice that you can use “I” in this assignment because it is discussing how you will utilize the research. Myburg, Albert. “Spaces of Death in Emily Bronte’s Wuthering Heights. Journal of Literary Studies, vol. 30, no. 1, 2014, pp. 20-33. Literary Reference Center,
Myburgh’s article focuses on characters within Wuthering Heights and their role
in society. Myburgh presents the possibility that Bronte’s placement of
characters, specifically Joseph, the servant is intentional and mirrors the British view of societal roles during that time period. Myburgh also examines the need for space and roles with the departed within the book and the church. This article can potentially help support Heathcliff’s and Catherine’s struggle with their designated roles within the family. By pulling from Myburgh’s article, I will be able to support the idea that Bronte purposefully places a power struggle
between the two characters early within the novel.
