Format
I Have…
1. Used Times New Roman 12, Ariel 11 or a similar reasonable font and double spaced.
2. A title page that plainly states my name, the title, my teacher’s name and the date centered in the middle of the page
3. Page numbers centered at the bottom of each page
4. Indented each and every paragraph.
5. Titled my works cited page “Works Cited” and centered it at the top of the page
6. Arranged my entries in alphabetical order by author’s last name and used a hanging indent

7. Placed all direct quotations in quotation marks
8. At least 4 direct quotations in my paper
9. Placed a citation that includes a page number at the end of every quotation from a paginated source
10. Mentioned the name of the author either in the text or in the citation of every quotation.

Editing
21. Looked at each sentence to determine if it is complete and not a run-on or comma splice.
22. Checked my capitalization including in all titles
23. Italicized the name of books and full-length plays
24. Placed story and poem titles in quotation marks
25. Reread carefully for clarity and correctness
26. Paid careful attention to the spell check on my computer to make sure I have no mistakes
27. Eliminated “you” from my whole paper
