For this assignment you will need to select a crisis that unfolded within an organization of your choice. (Please see examples on Canvas if you are not sure of an organizational crisis). You will want to write a case study including the following items:
1. How did the crisis unfold (who broke the story, was there rumors of the problem beforehand, etc)
2. How quickly and in what ways the sport organization responded to the crisis (what media channels were used and why type of media was used)
3. What was the organizations reputation prior to the crisis?
4. What crisis response strategies appear to have been employed (denial, bolstering, etc.). How do these strategies connect to the organizations reputation prior to the crisis.
5. Given the gift of hindsight, what would you have advised the organization to do differently, and what might have been the effects of your recommendations? To answer this you will want to look at fans/consumers comments across the media platforms to get a tone for how they responded to certain communication efforts.
Your case study should be a minimum of 2 pages. Be sure to explain your answers in their entirety and cite examples to support. You should also include examples of messages that your organization shared during their crisis management.
