1. Reflect on Your Motivation: Begin by thinking deeply about why you want to become a Physician Assistant. Consider your experiences in healthcare, any defining moments that solidified your decision, and your understanding of the PA’s role.
2. Structure Your Essay: A well-structured essay typically starts with an engaging introduction, followed by the body where you detail your experiences and motivations, and concludes with a strong closing statement that reaffirms your desire to pursue this career.
3. Personal Experiences: Use the body of your essay to narrate your journey. Discuss any clinical experiences, volunteer work, or personal encounters that have prepared you for a career as a PA. Be honest and introspective.
4. Show Don’t Tell: Instead of simply stating your qualities, demonstrate them through examples. If you’re compassionate, describe a situation where you showed compassion.
5. Future Goals: Articulate your career goals and how PA school will help you achieve them. Be clear about what you hope to accomplish as a PA.  6. Be Yourself: Lastly, ensure your essay reflects who you are. Admissions committees read many essays, so make yours memorable by injecting your personality into it.
