This paper will be the culmination of all your work in the class, so please show your best work. You are getting this assignment well in advance, so please plan ahead to allow time for research and revision.
The research essay is your chance to make a strong, complete, and convincing argument on the food issue of your choosing. To build upon your previous work, this essay will take a stand on the topic you discussed with neutrality in your first essay—the exploratory paper. Now, you will build an argument by expanding that paper and doing more research. You may use some of what you wrote for Essay #1 (it is not plagiarism to copy yourself), but try to rethink and rewrite Essay #1 through the lens of the course and your expanded research
Pay attention to what you have learned in the class as you write. For example, be aware of the types of claims you are making and the types of proof that will support your claims.
The research paper will cite at least four outside sources, and will be between 5 and 6 pages. Papers without a proper Works Cited will not be accepted. Quality web pages can be included, but they will not count towards the four required sources.
