Title: The Impact of Inductive Learning on Machine Predictions and Society’s Decision-Making Process

Learning Objectives Covered
LO1: Analyze the difference between machine learning and human learning capabilities
LO2: Compare the human brain as the master algorithm to the machine as the potential master algorithm
LO3: Conclude the importance of the continuing technological changes in machine learning and their impact to society, humanity, and people in general
Prompt
After reviewing chapters 3 and 4 of The Master Algorithm, the information on Humes Problem on Induction ( https://plato.stanford.edu/entries/induction-problem/ ) then elaborate on Google’s (and others) keyword search and how induction is important to the keyword search, how prediction is made by an algorithm, and how the assumption of causality impacts training the machine, so from the machine’s subsequent learning adds to the basis of rational decisions on what consumers will chose in the future. If Hume is correct, then there is no rational basis for the assumptions of society or the machine, and society makes decisions based on human instinct. Finally, explore what will happen if machine predictions learn to predict the judgment of humans.
