A Raisin in the Sun Drama Project: Considering Heritage
In A Raisin in the Sun, Beneatha is exploring the meaning of identity. Part of her exploration focuses on her African heritage. In an MLA formatted essay, in 3-5 pages (with a Works Cited page if you do outside research), your personal narrative paper must address the following for up to 200 points:
Share what role heritage plays in your identity. If it is immaterial to your identity, explain why. If it is an important part of your identity, explain its value. Share a symbol, narrative, concept, or feature of your heritage in which you find personal meaning that is important to you. Finally, explain which A Raisin in the Sun character’s views on heritage most closely resemble your own.
