“Exploring the Causes and Progression of Alzheimer’s Disease: A Comprehensive Review”

6 sources are requiered, one must be the DSM-5. I have this already
“Alzheimer’s Disease is a neurocognitive disorder that destroys memory and thinking skills and at a point causes a person to not be able to perform simple tasks. Alzheimer’s develops at around age 65 and “is currently ranked as the seventh leading cause of death in the United States and is the most common cause of dementia among older adults” (nia.nih.gov). Alzheimers is a progressive disease and patients symtoms will likely increase and progress over multiple years. Patients with Alzheimers usually live “4-8 years after diagnosis but can live as long as 20 years” (alz.org).
Causes
The causes of Alzheimers arent truly known but the memory loss is caused by the diminish of brain mass. Alzheimers causes the brain to shrink and brain cells to die along with the loss of neruons. The most probabable cause of alzheimers is genetic, environmental, and lifestyle factors. Alzheimers is also currently being reserached to be linked to type 3 diabetes but researchers aren’t sure as of right now.”
