“Mastering the Selection Interview: Crafting Effective Responses Using the C-A-R Format”

Introduction: This project has you prepare appropriate and efficient ways to answer questions in a selection (job or scholarship) interview in the role of an interviewee.
Directions: Research commonly asked interview questions and construct answers to any five selection interview questions. In such interviews, you can be more memorable and describe your strengths without bragging when you tell stories from your real life. This formula for answering selection interview questions allows you to be effective and efficient in connecting with your interviewers.
Start by naming some of your best, most marketable or employable qualities. Write down at least 5. Are you detail-oriented?: yes. Do you handle stress well?: yes and no. Are you an effective leader?: kinda. A team player?: yes but I like to work alone. Organized? A people person?: yes. Then think of examples from your experience that demonstrate your positive attributes. If you do not have a lot of work experience, think about volunteer experience, sports or extracurricular activities.: I worked as a caregiver for 3 years now full time .
I do volunteer, high school and for my church. As you frame your story, be sure to start by stating your attribute or qualification and put it in C-A-R format: context, action, result. Close by restating your personal attribute or qualification.
Here is an example of how to answer a popular selection interview question using the C-A-R format: How do you handle conflict between yourself and another person?: As a calm and collected person, I handle conflict by staying composed, listening actively, expressing my viewpoint clearly, and seeking a fair resolution through open communication and understanding.
