Title: Breaking Barriers: The Impact of Women in 90’s Hip Hop on Contemporary Female Artists

This assignment is a term paper about the history of women in 90’s hip hop and how they have shaped/paved the way for female hip-hop artists today. 
The term paper should have a thesis statement which will be
supported by cited evidence: in other words, this paper has a point of view
that can be supported. Note: this SHOULD NOT merely be a biographical paper,
detailing life events of your favorite musical artist. This project will grant
you ample space to draw from several of the themes we have explored throughout
the term, including but not limited to race, gender, class, mainstreams and
alternatives, and genre fusion. The paper should be between 8-9 pages,
excluding the bibliography. Papers should be typed, double-spaced using a 12 pt
font, with 1 inch margins.
