Title: The Consequences of Comfort in “The Ones Who Walk Away from Omelas”

Compose your paragraphs elsewhere, edit them carefully, and then paste them into this forum.
A. In a developed paragraph of literary analysis, answer ONE of the following three questions. Your answer should be a well-developed paragraph that follows the literary analysis format above. You do not have to color-code your paragraphs!
1. What is the narrator’s attitude toward Omelas? What is her attitude about the ones who walk away?
2. Why do you think the narrator allows the reader to make additions to the first picture she offers of Omelas?
3. In your opinion, are the people who walk away heroes, traitors, or something else entirely?
You do not need a works cited entry for your paragraphs, but you do need in-text citations.
B. In a developed paragraph of personal reflection, ALSO answer this question:
If we are being honest with ourselves, what similarities does this world have to our own? Does the comfort of some people depend on the discomfort of others? Is this just the way it has to be? If not, what can be done about it? Expand, develop, and explore your answer. I realize these are not easy questions, so don’t take them lightly. You may use direct, cited textual support from our reading in this personal reflection paragraph, but you don’t have to.
