“Influencing Behavior: Three Strategies for Social Change” 1) Restated Thought Share: I would like to see my friend, Sarah, change her behavior of constantly being late for our plans. 2) Three ways social influence could predict that

Part one:
For this Thought Share please relate a situation in which you would like somebody to change their behavior.   Please specify the person is (and please make it a single person and not a group of people) and what specific behavior (i.e., action, activity) you would like to see changed.  This can be a person you know and have a relationship with or somebody you don’t personally know.  (You don’t have to be in a position to get the person to change their behavior.)
Part Two:
For this assignment, I’d like for you to look back to your Thought Sharing assignment where you were asked what behavior would you like to see changed.
Using the concepts in this chapter, I’d like for you to describe three different ways the person may change their behavior through social influence.  This social influence could come from you or other people.  (If you chose somebody you didn’t know, the influence would almost definitely need to be from another.)
So, here are the items to do……
1) Please restate your thought share so I know who you are wanting to influence and what behavior you are wanting to influence.  (If you want, you can cut and paste from your thought share discussion.) (1 point)
2) State three different ways social influence would predict that the person could change their behavior.  For each item you will need to pick one concept from the list below.  You cannot use a concept more than once.  This means you’ll have to talk about three different concepts for this.  Each way will likely take 1-3 sentences.  (3 points each)
Concepts that can be used:
normative social influence
informational social influence
social impact theory
minority influence
injunctive norms
descriptive norms
foot-in-the-door technique
door-in-the-face technique
obedience
power (one of six types of power….this concept is not in the textbook, see the video for more information)
Please number the answer, so i can know which will go with. NO OUTSIDE SOURCES, JUST
THE TEXTBOOK.
