Midterm Paper Requirements:
Length: 3 pages (1500 words), not counting the title page or the bibliography
Sources: Minimum 1 scholarly article (Berg, 2019; McNeill, 1985, or Stearns, 1998) but you’re encouraged to use more to compare/contrast competing claims as well as state your own position supported by evidence
Citation Format: Chicago Manual of Style with Footnotes. This means that footnotes citing your sources belong in the text of your paper, while a full bibliographic entry for each source should be included with all sources on the final page of your paper.
Submit in Word (do not submit in PDF): If you do not own a copy of Word, you can use Google Documents and “Save As” Word. Submitting in Word allows in-text feedback by the instructor.
Purpose of the Assignment
This assignment benefits the student in two ways:
It allows the instructor to give feedback on student work to ensure student success in the Final Term Paper.
It allows the student to have a solid understanding of their performance when Midterm Grades are posted to the Registrar’s Office.

Written with good usage of American English, grammatically correct and correct spelling (20%)
