Leith Mullings emphasizes understanding “race class and gender as relational concepts: not as attributes…but as historically created relationships” (2005, 79). Explain what this means by using an example from class discussion or materials (readings, movies).

GRADING CRITERIA
I take the following into consideration while grading
Relevance: assignments should address the prompt in a way and not stray too far beyond the scope of the class. Often, assignments will specifically require you to engage with a text.
Organization: though short, assignments should be well-organized and easy for a reader to follow
Engagement with class material, topics or discussion: these assignments revolve around things we discuss in class, so your responses should demonstrate your critical engagement with the topics, materials, and texts from class
Accuracy: when you bring information, facts, or observations into your writing, make sure they are accurate and relevant, and consistent with the larger points you are making.
