“Therapeutic Memoir Role Play: Using Clinical Interventions to Treat Trauma”

Therapeutic Memoir Video Role Play:
• This assignment utilizes knowledge from Memoir book reading, Assessment, Diagnosis, and Treatment Plan and requires recording with Zoom or compatible technology.
• Student will use information from the Memoir book and work with at least one other student who read the same book to complete this assignment.
• Each student in the pair/group will role play with their chosen peer.
• Each student will play the role of the therapist utilizing the Memoir client identified in Module 4 diagnostic assessment.
• Each student will record the role play in which they are playing the part of the therapist using Zoom or comparable technology.
• Each student in the pair/group will engage in a 10-15-minute role-play, with their selected peer, demonstrating use of a clinical intervention specific to treating trauma. Must be recorded with Zoom or compatible technology.
• Role play will be evaluated using the Rubric for Therapeutic Memoir Video Role play with peer(s) AND with use of criteria listed here:
▪ Ability to explain the intervention to the client;
▪ Ability to demonstrate effective use of the intervention;
▪ Clinical skills demonstrated;
▪ Level of comfort, sincerity, and empathy demonstrated;
▪ Ability to demonstrate use of supportive statements and non-judgmental interaction; and
▪ Ability to use a strengths-based approach.
