“Annotating Credible Sources for Milestone 4 Research Assignment”

Reading is also an integral part of growing as writers. You will have regular reading and annotation assignments throughout the class.
Instructions: 
This week, you will engage in the research process to find at least two credible sources to support your upcoming Milestone 4 assignment  (to be assigned next week). You will read and annotate each of the credible sources you find. In your annotations, identify how you know each source is credible. You may use this worksheet to help if needed.
Upload your annotations to the assignment dropbox by the due date. If you are annotating a hard copy by hand, use a mobile scanning app to scan and submit your annotations as a PDF or word doc. Or upload them as a picture file. If you would like to try annotating online, check out this tool. You can also copy/paste the text of the reading into a google doc to annotate online.

DIRECTIONS: Choose a current event or issue that is of interest to you. Describe how the event or issue is related to the abstract term (https://www.yourdictionary.com/articles/abstract-noun-examples) you wrote about in your previous milestones. (Or, if you’d like, choose a new abstract term.) Research the event/issue, finding at least 2 credible sources to support your position.
Examples: Perhaps you research and write about a current event that is restricting people’s “freedom.” OR perhaps you research and write about a current event that is granting people new “opportunity.” OR perhaps you research and write about a current event that shows examples of “bravery.”
