Journaling is an essential strategy for reflections in qualitative research, particularly. This strategy is adopted to think and make notes on a topic and your understandings.

Each week students will consider the learning derived from the interactions, assignments, readings and videos in the concerned week. The steps to completing this task include:
Before starting to write, it is essential to reflect and identify a (i) topic in leisure studies that could be translated into / explored for your term paper, and (ii) question/a quote/an insight / a thought-provoking idea to guide an entry in their journal.
Thereafter, your entry can begin in …….. Start with a brief introduction to this ‘new’ learning. This can include an explanation of your reaction to / realizations from this learning / knowledge.
Now move into an examination / application of the same on a leisure related topic.
Next, identify any challenges and / or possibilities accruing from the learning, as experienced or foreseen. Conclude with a critical commentary of your explanation.
Grades will be assigned to the relevance, clarity, coherence, and integrity in your journal entries. The length of each entry can vary between 250 – 300 words.
