Memo writing or memoing is most commonly associated with grounded theory research, but can be a very useful practice for researchers conducting all forms of qualitative research. Reflecting throughout the research process creates opportunities for you to tease out meaning, clarify thinking, explore the evolving ideas, and facilitate connections to your action research problem and research questions. Understanding that my research question is ‘At XX High School, how does self-efficacy impact novice teachers’ ability to fulfill their professional duties?
Reflect on your initial decisions regarding what types of qualitative data you will collect. because i deviated a bit from oriiginal Problem of practice, I now see the qualititavie data taking form.
Do you have any concerns or reservations about the people you’ve identified as your participants/stakeholders? yes, i am concened about who are returning, who are new teachers.
How are you feeling about the use of qualitative methods to answer your research question? Write about how I feel that the self efficacy scale would help but told that is wuantitative and can’t be used. Perhaps I could take those questions and write them in open responses.
What help or support (if any) do you need to seek at this point from your course faculty or other faculty? a lot of support
