Title: “Uncovering Indigenous Perspectives: An Analysis of Mainstream Indigenous Media Sources”

Indigenous Media Analysis: This assignment will involve gaining familiarity with some mainstream Indigenous media sources.  You will examine one podcast/radio episode, one tv episode and two print sources.  The sources will be chosen from:
Unreserved with Rosanna Deerchild on CBC Radio 1 (be sure to listen to a whole episode, usually around 45 minutes) (https://www.cbc.ca/listen/live-radio/1-105-unreserved) or Media Indigena Podcast (usually around an hour). Find it wherever you listen to podcasts or here:  https://www.iheart.com/podcast/263-media-indigena-week-27994417/
And
APTN InFocus (https://www.aptnnews.ca/infocus/) or APTN Investigates (https://www.aptnnews.ca/investigates/full-episodes/ ). Each of these episodes is about 25 minutes, though some run a little longer.  Please try to choose more recent episodes, so you get a sense of what is happening.
And
Windspeaker (https://windspeaker.com/news)  or Anishinabek News (https://anishinabeknews.ca/news/).  Choose something from the news section, with attention given to current issues.  Try to choose longer articles, though many of them are shorter.
You will write a 5-6 (1250-1500 words) page paper which analyzes each source and compares them.  Discuss each of the sources by summarizing it, giving a short background to the topics at hand and then providing your analysis.  Your conclusion of the paper should consider the differences in topics, lenses and style from mainstream media that you noticed.
