Review the two attached files, which are statutes governing the use of deadly force in North Carolina. These statutes, which were created in 2011, restated our existing case law on self defense, clarified some aspects of it, and extended it further, as well. Having read about the history and current status of self defense laws across our country in Chapter 6, how do you think our law in North Carolina fits with the broader principles of self defense law? Does it go too far or not far enough? Is it clear and easy to understand and apply?
