“Embracing Creativity in Teaching: Promoting Student Expression and Overcoming Resistance”

pick one to answer
Reflect on your recent teaching or lessons that are coming up. How do you walk with creativity? Does it drive your lesson design? Is it a long lost relative that visits from time to time? Share two ways in which you have promoted/incorporated (or will promote/incorporate) creativity and creative expression for your students. If you cannot think of two ways from previous lessons, where could you promote it in upcoming instruction? And, in either case, how does it support learning? Include the grade level, subject, and, if it is a lesson already taught, student reaction to the opportunities. If it is an upcoming lesson, what do you anticipate student reactions will be? How might you address resistance demonstrated by students? Questions from colleagues? Parents? Respond to the posts of at least two cohort members.

Is creativity important in education? Where should it live? What promotes an environment of creativity? What inhibits it? Use supports from readings or personal research in addition to personal experience.
