Purpose
To provide you with the opportunity to learn about different family literacy programs and agencies and compare their purposes, target audiences and benefits.
Directions
Research: Identify and research at least four different family literacy programs, agencies or foundations (This can be done with a Google search of family literacy programs or agencies or foundations). These can be local, national, or global initiatives aimed at promoting literacy within families.
Create a Table: Create a table with the following columns:
Name of Program/Agency
Short Description
Local, National or Global
Target Audience
Benefit Description
Complete the Table: Fill in each row of the table with information about a different family literacy program or agency. Ensure that your descriptions are concise but informative.
Details to Include:
Name of Program/Agency: Provide the full name of the program or agency and link to website
Short Description: Write a brief description that highlights the main focus and activities of the program or agency.
Local, National or Global: Indicate whether the program or agency operates on a local, national or global scale.
Target Audience: Specify the primary audience the program or agency aims to serve (e.g., parents, children, specific communities) .
Benefits Description: Describe the benefits considering how these programs/agencies support family literacy and the potential impact on the communities they serve.
Comparison: In a separate section below the table
Comparison: Write a comparative analysis of the programs or agencies you have listed. Discuss how they are similar and how they differ in terms of their objectives, approaches, target audiences and benefits.
