Each student is to prepare a five-page paper in APA format according to the following guidelines: select a criminal case and follow it through the criminal justice process. It is important to apply what you’ll learn throughout the semester to your chosen case.
It is a requirement to specifically discuss and/or define the major concepts in your textbook as they pertain to your case. Do not spend more than a few paragraphs on the gruesome details of your case or the investigation; they are only components of this lengthy process.
There are many sources for ideas such as the Cardoza Law School’s Innocence Project, which can be found at www.innocenceproject.org Other ideas could be high profile cases found online.
Your paper should consist of the following:

As to the mechanics, the paper must be type-written; double-spaced; either in Times New Roman or Courier New 12 point font; contain a title page and a reference page; and should adhere to the format of the *American Psychological Association’s Publication Manual, 6th edition.
