Title: Ventilation System Calculations and Recommendations for a Styrene Dip Tank Cleaning Operation
Part 1: Calculations
Your facility will start a cleaning operation in an open-bay room using a styrene dip tank. You estimate the operation will use 1.5 gallons of styrene each 8-hour shift. You determine the current general air distribution of the room is moderate, but the room layout does not currently allow dilution air to pass directly through the area above the dip tank, creating a zone of contamination over the tank.
You have been tasked with determining the minimum airflow requirement for a dilution ventilation system to maintain the concentration of styrene at the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) permissible exposure limit (PEL) of 100 ppm. You will find the formula for the calculation in the Ventilation Systems Calculations PowerPoint presentation for the unit. Please note that the PowerPoint Presentation includes notes. You need to calculate the number of pints per hour using the above information.
The steps are listed below:
For the purposes of the room setup, assume standard temperature and pressure (STP).
You need to research the chemical to find the specific gravity and molecular weight.
You must choose a value for K based on the information provided.
Provide an explanation for the value you choose for K.
Calculate the minimum airflow for a dilution ventilation system for the work area. Show all your calculations.
Include a recommendation for the placement of any supply and exhaust fans in the work area.
Provide your opinion about the feasibility of providing the calculated level of dilution airflow in the work area.
Part 2: Recommendations
Your second task is to recommend a local exhaust ventilation system for the operation as a second option. The dip tank has the following dimensions: 2 feet (width) by 5 feet (length) by 2 feet (depth). Based on the recommendations in the American Conference of Governmental Industrial Hygienists (ACGIH) manual, you decide that a capture velocity of 100 ft/min would be adequate for the operation.
Specify which hood type you would use, the size of the hood opening, and the duct diameter you would recommend for the operation. State the distance you would place the hood opening from the work. Calculate the required airflow for that size hood and the capture velocity of 100 ft/min. The formula for the calculation can also be found in the presentation for the unit. Be specific about where the hood will be placed in relation to the dip tank and worker and what treatment, if any, will be used for the exhaust. If you will not recommend any treatment for the exhaust, state why you do not believe treatment is necessary and where you would release the exhausted air.
Your completed assignment (Parts 1 and 2 combined) must be at least three pages in length, not counting a title page and a reference page. An abstract is not needed. Include at least three reliable sources. One of the sources must be from the CSU Online Library. Use correct APA Style for in-text citations and the reference page. -

“Exploring World Religions: Introducing Myself and My Research Tools”
Select one option below for this week’s Discussion and be sure to review the Religion Program Guide to assist you in the completion of your replies. OPTION A:
The nature of the online environment today is one in which students need to protect their identity while at the same time being able to communicate important information effectively. As a result, you are being asked to incorporate those ideas and do the following for this week’s Introductory Discussion: Develop an Introductory Discussion where you role play as though you are applying for the open staff position of Researcher with the prominent research company – R.R.C., Inc. (Religious Research Company, Incorporated). Share limited personal information as you seek to introduce yourself and highlight both the strengths and weaknesses you have in the skills that you bring to the research of World Religions.
Demonstrate how you are the best candidate for this position in advancing this company’s objectives, and what you hope to gain from your experience with this company. Identify three (3) research tools you found in the Religion Program Guide located in the Richard G. Trefry Library for being successful in your new position with R.R.C.,Inc. OPTION B:
The nature of the online environment today is one in which students need to protect their identity while at the same time being able to communicate important information effectively. As a result, you are being asked to incorporate those ideas and do the following for this week’s Introductory Discussion: Develop an Introductory Discussion where you introduce yourself to the class by describing and/or detailing any experience you have had with one (1) of the World Religions we will be studying in this course over the next 8 weeks.
Using limited personal information, you will want to identify and define the religion with which you have had some experience from the list of those in this class.
Describe the experience as to the facility where is was held, what type of teachings were shared, what rituals you witnessed, the impact it had on you at the time, and what role, if any, it played in your decision to take this course?

“The Complex Dynamics of the Israeli-Palestinian Conflict and Middle Eastern Development: Exploring Historical, Political, and Socioeconomic Factors”
Hi! So if you see the pdf of the rubric, it will explain the requirements. 2 short essays each 2-3 pages based on the attached books. I added points that help with the topics:
essay 1:
Historical and Religious Claims: Both sides claim ancient religious and historical rights to the land, creating fundamental disputes over sovereignty.
Colonial Legacies and Political Decisions: The borders and nations shaped by colonial powers, especially post-World War II, have left lasting impacts on regional dynamics.
Displacement and Refugees: The displacement of Palestinians during the 1948 Arab-Israeli War created a significant refugee issue that fuels ongoing grievances.
Territorial Occupation and Settlements: Israeli occupation of Palestinian territories and settlement expansion since 1967 intensify territorial disputes and hinder peace efforts.
Political and Leadership Divides: Divided leadership within both Israeli and Palestinian communities complicates negotiations and diminishes opportunities for peace.
International Influence and Interventions: External political and military support affects the strategies and resilience of both parties, often exacerbating the conflict.
essay 2
Political Authoritarianism: The dominance of authoritarian regimes limits political freedom and discourages reforms.
Economic Dependency: Over-reliance on oil revenues prevents economic diversification and stability.
Education and Unemployment: Outdated educational systems do not meet the needs of modern economies, contributing to high youth unemployment.
Social and Cultural Factors: Cultural resistance to change, including gender inequality, hampers societal and economic progress.
External Political Influences: Foreign interventions and geopolitical dynamics destabilize regions and divert resources from development. -
“Exploring Sociological Readings: Understanding Main Claims, Audience, and Absent Ideas” “Exploring Sociological Imagination and Understanding Truman Capote” “Exploring Social Dynamics: A Look at Social Things, Truman Capote, and In Cold Blood”
These are the questions you are able to use
1. Reading the main claims
What does the text argue?
What statements are put forward as truth or facts?
Are the claims of the text specific or very general?
Are the claims of the text well supported? How are they supported?
What do you think was the most important point / piece of evidence / thing in this reading and why? (choose one)
What is one thing that you felt needed more explanation?
2. Comparative analysis
Pick a concept or idea we have discussed in class. How would this author approach this concept/idea?
Pick another author we have read in class. We’ll call them “Author B” and we’ll call the author of this reading (the one you are writing about in this assignment) “Author A”. How would Author A respond to Author B’s writing?
Does the writer base her / his ideas or assertions on the works of other writers and researchers? How so?
Pick an academic reading from sometime in your life that you really enjoyed. What do you imagine its author think would think about the current reading (explain).
3. Audience
Who is the intended and unintended audience for this reading? That is, who does the author intentionally or unintentionally include or exclude and how?
What does the author want us to do with this information?
What kind of assumptions is the author making about what their audience knows or believes?
What background information would help you better understand this text?
Does the writer make references to events that are not fully explained? How so?
4. Reading what’s absent
What ideas are assumed in the text? What are its assumptions?
Are there big ideas or ideologies on which this text seems to rely? What are those ideas or ideologies?
What is implied by the text that is not all the way spelled out?
As you list the main claims/assumptions of the text, ask yourself for each, what else has to be true for each claim to be true?

Sometimes the tone or voice of a piece of writing causes us to react. How would you describe the tone of the text? Its voice?
Are there ideas, words, references (as in words/phrases/ideas; not bibliographic references), or anything else in the text you don’t understand? Which ones?
What surprised you about this reading?
