Whistleblowing in Serpico: Applying Lecture Concepts to Movie Scenes
(Serpico movie 1973) In viewing the movie, it will be evident that Serpico’s experience was
fraught with whistleblowing topics. You are to identify a scene from the movie to match
each of the five parts from the lecture that covered the conditions needed to be fulfilled
before blowing the whistle outside of the organization (e.g. be certain a true and serious
problem exists that requires action, have facts about the problem, etc.). You are then to
identify a scene in the movie and match it to at least five of the – “Ten Tips for Potential
Whistleblowers.” Keep in mind that each of the movie scenes must be different. In other words, you are to identify a total of 10 different scenes in the movie to match the different five conditions and five tips.
Be sure to 1) identify the lecture topic with a heading (“Conditions
Needed” and “Tips for Potential Whistleblowers”, 2) define/describe the concept, and 3)
provide the example/application from the movie that demonstrates that particular concept. Define means, describing what the condition means; pretend that you are trying to convey what these concepts mean to a person who you are trying to educate on the concept, and
then follow with using a movie scene to apply the concept. Again, these must be concepts
from the lecture that match different parts of the movie. This is not a long dissertation, but
just a quick way for you to put into practice the lecture material. 5 Conditions needed for
Whistleblowing = 50 points (10 pts each) 5 of 10 Tips for Potential Whistleblowers = 50 points (10 pts each)
No extra credit, so please do not include more than the above. Headings should look like this:
Condition No. 1 – Be certain a true and serious problem exists
Condition No. 2 – Have facts about the problem
Condition No .3 – etc… and do this for the five conditions.
Tip No. 1 – select the tip ( you are doing a total of 5 out of the ten) -
Exploring the Impact of Social Media on Mental Health: A Mixed Methods Approach The Impact of Social Media on Mental Health
Prior to beginning work on this assignment, read the instructor guidance, the mixed methods section of Chapter 7 and all of Chapter 10 in the Creswell and Creswell text and Chapter 2: Formulating Questions, Conducting a Literature Review, Sampling Design, and the Centrality of Ethics in Mixed Methods Research of the Hesse-Biber ebook.
Begin your assignment by briefly describing the topic you selected in Week 1. Narrow your topic down to a precise focus. Apply the scientific method by developing a specific research question. Determine which approach (qualitative, quantitative, or mixed methods) is called for by the wording of the question. If a quantitative or mixed methods approach will be used, also formulate a testable hypothesis that addresses the research question. Identify the philosophical paradigm or worldview that underlies your research approach.
The second part of the assignment is the annotated bibliography. Refer to the Writing Center’s Annotated BibliographyLinks to an external site. resource for formatting details, a sample, and an optional template. Your bibliography must contain peer-reviewed journal articles, including one literature review article on your topic, at least one quantitative research study on your topic, at least one qualitative study on your topic, one mixed methods study relevant to your topic (if available), and at least two articles about the research design and methods you would use. These sources should be obtained from the UAGC Library. Refer to the Scholarly, Peer-Reviewed, and Other Credible SourcesLinks to an external site. and the Library OneSearchLinks to an external site. tip sheets for help in finding appropriate sources. Google Scholar may be used, but only if the articles are available in full text at no cost. For assistance researching on this platform, refer to the Library’s Google ScholarLinks to an external site. tip sheet. A minimum of six peer-reviewed journal articles are required for the assignment.
Write two paragraphs about each source in the bibliography. In the first paragraph, summarize the main points of the article in your own words. In the second paragraph, explain how this article can be used in your final research proposal. For instance, research studies will be included in the Literature Review section of the proposal; articles about methods will be used to support your research plans in the Methods section of the proposal. You may cite the course text, but it does not count as one of the six required bibliography sources.
In your paper,
Describe your narrowly defined research topic.
Develop a specific research question. If the research will have a quantitative component, also develop a testable hypothesis.
Determine which approach (qualitative, quantitative, or mixed methods) best aligns with the research question.
Identify the philosophical paradigm underlying the research approach.
Create an annotated bibliography of at least six peer-reviewed journal articles including both research studies on your topic and articles about how to use selected research methods.
Sources for the bibliography must include the following:
one literature review article on your topic
at least one quantitative research study on your topic
at least one qualitative research study on your topic
one mixed methods study relevant to your topic (if available)
at least two articles about the research design and methods you would use
Summarize the main points of the sources in one paragraph for each article
Explain how the articles will be used to inform and support your final research proposal with one paragraph per article.
The Research Question, Approach, and Annotated Bibliography paper

“Reading Together for Social Justice: How Literature Can Promote Ethical Action and Equitable Communities” “Promoting Social Justice and Flourishing through Literary Analysis and Community Engagement”
Craft a 6 page paper that combines contextual research and literary analysis to argue for ways in which reading literature can help individuals act more ethically and create more just and equitable communities and then outline a possible plan for your group’s Reading Together Project that seeks to test out your argument.
A major aim of this assignment is to prepare you to collaboratively lead a reading community with the other members of your reading group by having you develop some well informed ideas about how such a reading community might advance social justice.
The three components of the paper (in the order that I think is most likely to be effective):
A thesis that makes a claim about how reading/discussing literature in community might promote justice and flourishing (or, if you prefer, why it it is unlikely to accomplish that), and a discussion that synthesizes ideas and information from at least 4 credible, relevant secondary sources (3 of which must be scholarly) to suggest that your thesis is reasonable and well informed. You can use any of the secondary sources that we’ve discussed in class as well as the source that you wrote about in the related minor assignment. all sources to be use have been attached in files
A section in which you close read the jungle by upton sinclair to illustrate how it might be used to realize your claims about how discussing literature in community might promote justice and flourishing. Show how specific features of the text could be discussed or understood in ways that might change the minds and actions of reading community members.
A proposal in which you outline how your group could organize and lead a reading community that strives to include people who are not in our class and meets at least four times to discuss one or two of our course texts. You should identify how your Reading Group will invite people to join its reading community, what text(s) you’ll focus on, where and when you might meet, and how you will attempt to apply the ideas and research discussed earlier in the paper to organizing and leading your reading community. .
Essential Goals:
The essay offers a plausible thesis that makes a claim about how reading/discussing literature in community might promote justice and flourishing.
The essay contains a discussion that synthesizes ideas and information from at least 4 credible, relevant secondary sources to support and expand on the ideas in your thesis.
Three of those sources are scholarly, meaning they are written by an expert, published in a scholarly venue, and peer-reviewed or have undergone a similarly rigorous process to ensure originality, accuracy, and quality.
The essay close reads one of our course texts to illustrate how it might be used to realize your thesis’s claims about how discussing literature in community might promote justice and flourishing.
The essay offers a proposal in which you outline how your Reading Group could organize and lead a reading community that strives to include people who are not in our class and meets at least four times to discuss one or two of our course texts and this proposal is clearly informed and inspired by the thesis, research, and close reading offered in the rest of the essay.
The essay uses the MLA citation style to cite the analyzed text and includes an MLA style Works Cited (see this siteLinks to an external site. and this site for more info; ask me questions if further clarity is needed).
The essay is 6-8 pages long.
The essay’s language is generally clear and free of grammatical errors. Its organization does not noticeably hamper readers’ understanding.
Advanced Goals:
The essay’s combination of thesis, claims, reasons, and evidence presents a compelling, persuasive, thorough argument (one that is likely to sway readers and makes counterarguments difficult) about how reading/discussing literature in community might promote justice and flourishing. The essay’s argument makes clear how specific kinds of reading/analysis/discussion of literary texts can lead to specific outcomes related to social justice and flourishing.
The essay’s proposal section describes specific actions that the group could take to lead and organize a successful reading community and shows how those actions are informed by the essay’s argument and research by drawing clear connections to the claims and sources offered in other parts of the essay. The essay’s proposal offers concrete details to describe how the reading community will be led and organized.
The essay’s proposed reading community seems likely to achieve its goals, based on your proposal.
The essay’s discussion of secondary sources conveys the author’s detailed knowledge of each source and relies more on quotation than paraphrase.
The essay shows clearly how its thesis is informed by the ideas and information in its secondary sources and also effectively distinguishes and foregrounds its own claims about how reading/discussing literature in community might promote justice and flourishing.
The essay’s close reading of a course text is thorough and persuasive. It offers robust analysis of well-chosen textual evidence and that analysis shows persuasively how specific features of the text could be discussed or understood in ways that might change the minds and actions of reading community members.
The sequencing of the essay’s paragraphs demonstrates the author’s understanding how their claims build on each other. Later claims follow logically from early claims.
The essay’s language flows in ways that make comprehension easy. It is unlikely that a skilled reader would need to reread get the gist of your meaning or would be “bumped” out of their reading process. -

“Exploring Ethical Leadership: A Reflection and Analysis of Personal Values and Decision-Making through the Ethical Lens Inventory”
INTRODUCTION
Leadership is often defined as the ability to influence people. An effective ethical leader guides an organization and its employees to accomplish organizational goals. In the same vein, an unethical leader can guide an organization and its employees to act unethically, harming both the organization and the stakeholders. Being a leader is an exploration, a reflection, and a test of your leadership values. Seeking understanding of how you resolve ethical dilemmas, taking inventory of where an ethical weakness may lie, and examining the traits of an ethical leader helps you define, shape, and apply an ethical decision-making framework, while also taking into consideration all stakeholders who may be affected by your decisions.
For this task, you will respond to an ethical situation as well as analyze the results of the Ethical Lens Inventory (ELI), which should be completed in the course. This task focuses on you as a leader by helping you to define, refine, and test your ethical boundaries through self-reflection and analysis.
SCENARIO
You are a sales representative for a medical device company that manufactures artificial joints. Your company has developed an artificial knee joint that is less expensive than the competition and will dramatically reduce healing time for patients. However, it is also known to produce a serious and potentially lethal infection in a small percentage of patients. The company refuses to disclose this potential side effect. You feel you have a duty to divulge this issue, but you signed a nondisclosure agreement when you were hired and worry about possible repercussions.
A. Select a nonfictional leader who you feel has exhibited exemplary ethical conduct and do the following:
1. Discuss two ethical traits your chosen leader has demonstrated.
2. Explain how your chosen leader has exhibited ethical conduct.
Note: The chosen leader can be someone you know personally or someone famous.
B. Compare the deontological and consequentialist perspectives and how each perspective would approach the dilemma from the scenario.
C. Identify and explain which level of cognitive moral development (i.e., preconventional, conventional, or postconventional) is represented in the scenario for each of the following questions:
• Which action would most likely serve the greater good in society?
• If I reveal this information, will I get into trouble and possibly even lose my job?
• Which action best aligns with my long-held belief in the principle of justice?
• What do the laws say, and what would a law-abiding citizen do?
• If I keep quiet, will I get some sort of reward?
D. Reflect on your Ethical Lens Inventory (ELI) by doing the following:
1. Explain your preferred ethical lens, relevant to the ELI.
a. Analyze whether you have the same preferred lens in different settings (e.g., work, personal, social).
2. Explain one of your primary values and one classical virtue from the ELI.
Note: If you are a Center Perspective, choose any primary value.
a. Compare your primary value from part D2 with one of your own self-identified or personal values. Then compare your classical virtue from part D2 with a different self-identified or personal value.
Note: Examples of personal values can be found in the attached “Clarifying Your Values” chart.
3. Describe one of the following from your ELI:
• blind spot
• risk
• double standard
• vice
a. Discuss two steps you can take to mitigate the blind spot, risk, double standard, or vice described in part D3 in order to make better ethical decisions in the future.
4. Discuss how the information from your ELI could be applied to an ethical situation in the workplace. -

“The Timeless Impact of Beowulf: A Study of the Poem and its Relevance to Modern Audiences”
eras of literature such as beowulf ; you can pick any poem you’d like, but make sure it’s one you like well enough to spend some time studying and “digesting.” Make sure to COPY AND PASTE THE POEM AT THE TOP OF YOUR ESSAY.Modernize the spelling and punctuation. You can translate this from prose to verse if you’d like; you do not have to keep the rhyme and meter. When these poems were written, spelling and punctuation was not regularized. Make sure that the spelling and grammar conform to modern rules and standards and that it’s written with modern usage.
When there is a difficult word or a word that we no longer use (or rarely use), provide a footnote with a definition, so that the reader can understand. If you question whether a word is no longer used or rarely used, err on the side of caution and assume it isn’t and provide a footnote with a definition.
Write a summary. After the poem, write a summary of what it is literally about or addressing, and why we believe this to be true. This should be no fewer than 3 paragraphs. Make sure that for every point you make, you provide an example from the poem and/or the poet’s life, and provide an explanation of how and why the example supports the point and supports what you’re addressing about the poem.
Poet biography: After your summary, provide the background information on the poet. What from his/her life influenced his/her writing? How and why? How does the reader see this in the poem you chose? What other information does the reader need to know to about the poet to understand the poem and its meaning? (Don’t forget MLA in-text citations and a correct works cited page.)
In another paragraph, explain the poem’s relevance and what it has to offer a modern audience. Explain why you say this. Provide examples and explanations.
In as many paragraphs needed to address the content, reflect on the project itself and your process in completing it. What did you take away from this experience and do you have a greater appreciation and/or understanding of the:
Era in which it was written?
The poet and why he/she wrote it?
Why we still read it today?
How it links to the universal themes and characteristics that we’ve been studying all semester?
How the poem still has an impact on the world today (since it’s survived and we still read it)?
YOU CAN,T USE AI FOR ANYTHING I WILL GET A ZERO FOR PLAGARISM,AND MY SCHOOL WILL FAIL ME I NEED HELP WITH THIS BECAUSE I,M RUNNING LOW ON TIME MANAGEMENT AND I DON,T HAVE TIME TO WRITE THIS OUT, I WILL PAY YOU FOR YOUR EXPERTISE THANKS!
