  • “Analyzing Best Practices for Teaching English Language Learners in a K-12 Learning Context”

I’m working on K-12. In this assignment, you will combine all of the information you have learned this week to evaluate a teaching scenario. For each learning context, you will be observing a teacher in the classroom. After watching the video, answer the questions, based on your context, using the information from the week as your guide. Respond to either the K-12 or adult learning questions, but not both.
    To structure your writing,
Your audience will be another group of colleagues and/or a teaching supervisor. You are reporting on how the teaching/ideas are best-practice based on what you have learned so far.
Your role is that of someone who is observing teaching practices of an ELL teacher.
The format will be an essay.
The purpose is to evaluate the teaching practices for best-practices, according to research (class content you have learned so far)

Thinking of all of the information we have learned related to planning for ELLs,
Describe how the teachers use comprehensible input hypothesis and what can be done to include more comprehensible input.
Explain if and how the teachers are using communicative language teaching.
Evaluate how students might vary in their interactions during lessons based on their proficiency with basic interpersonal communication skills (BICS) and cognitive academic language proficiency (CALP).

  • “Assessing the Impact of Human Activity on Seashell Diversity and Abundance: A Comparative Study of Zuma and Leo Carillo Beaches”

ANOVA tests and corelation/ regression tests along with simpsons diversity index  that compares the differences between the beaches in abundance and diversity of the seashells collected in the data are needed. fugures, graphs and tables are needed to be placed in a research paper and it needs to be publishable quality.  i need to compare the diversity and abundace compared to beach health of these two beaches i need 2 or 3 different figures.  null hypothesis is that human activity does not have any effect on the seashell organisms health diversity and abundance while the actual hypothesis is that human activity has an impact on them.
    i need
Separate bar graphs for each beach: These graphs can show the count of different types of seashells (e.g., snails, mussels, hermit crabs) collected at different transects. This will allow for a clear visual comparison of species abundance between different sections of each beach.
diversity graphs of each beach based on the human activity
( Pie Chart for Comparing Diversity)
Scatter Plot for Beach Health vs. Seashell Diversity
This graph can help visualize the relationship between beach health (consider factors like human activity) and the diversity of seashells.
and any othr fugure which will show the difference ‘
Separate bar graphs for each beach: These graphs can show the count of different types of seashells (e.g., snails, mussels, hermit crabs etc) collected at different transects. This will allow for a clear visual comparison of species abundance between different sections of each beach.
Combined bar graph: To compare both beaches directly, use a grouped bar graph where each group represents a transect, with bars showing the count of each species for Zuma and Leo Carillo side by side.

  • Title: Examining the Relationship between Education and Income Inequality in the United States

You are now a full-time researcher for a major social policy research institute. For this major social policy research institute you have received grant funding, have collected your data or are using pre-existing data, and are now ready to begin analyses. Using any data set (if you do not have any data to work with you are more than welcomed to use the PSID “good” data set, but you may also consider using the National Longitudinal Survey of Youth, the Health and Retirement Study, the National Longitudinal Study of Adolescent Health, Fragile Families, or any other pre-existing national probability sample), you are to examine any particular research question(s) of interest. If you use linear regression, make sure that you consider possible mediation and/or moderation. If you use logistic regression, or one of the models mentioned but beyond the scope of the course (path modeling, multilevel modeling), a simpler model is okay.
You have the option to do a policy research report, blog, vlog, op-ed, or podcast. If you do a policy research report, you need to provide a brief introduction that frames and states your research question(s). Describe your data as you would in a methods section, report your analyses as you would in a results section, and provide a discussion of your interpretation and implications of the results. In the methods section you need to explain which modeling technique you are using, why it is appropriate for your research question(s), and present the equation for the model with all variables included in model. Assumptions need to be evaluated but it is not necessary to report everything done. Simply state if any assumptions were violated and what changes were made to the data and/or model in order to account for assumption violations. The results section should report: the descriptive statistics (i.e. N, means/medians/proportions, standard deviations, frequencies, observed ranges, and correlations) of the variables. If you do a policy blog or op-ed, the narrative of the blog or op-ed should refer to data from the research and you will also need submit a methods and results section of the analyses.
You may work in groups of two for this assignment but you must inform the instructor in advance. Given that this assignment is open to many research questions and the use of any data, please talk to the instructor first about what you plan to do. This assignment can be a good opportunity to work on the analyses for a journal article or an on-going research project including for the Data for Equitable Justice Lab. Please feel free to use this assignment as an opportunity to sharpen, strengthen, or simply complete the analyses for your existing on-going work.

Each body paragraph should address one of the justifications of the thesis statement’s position.
    Counterargument:
    Roughly six to seven sentences
Introduce an argument that opposes the argument made in the thesis statement and then refute it (revisit Unit VI lessons on introducing a counterargument).

  • “Exploring the Semiotic Nature of Humans and Vervet Monkeys: A Comparative Analysis of Alarm Calls and Memes” Humans and Vervet monkeys are both social creatures, living in groups and communicating with one another. However, their methods

    expand on my prompt. 1.
    Consider
the framing statement from the first day of class: Human beings are a “semiotic
species.” We’ve been able to explore this from several angles. Think about some
of what makes us different from other animals by comparing and contrasting what
Vervet monkeys tend to do with their alarm calls with what human beings tend to
do with memes. Where possible, draw on the theoretical concepts offered in this
class as part of this comparative exercise.
