“The Power of Rain: Exploring its Different Moods and Inspirations” (a) What is the main idea of the paragraph? The main idea of the paragraph is the different moods and inspirations that rain can create. (b)
Answer each of the following questions according to the instructions given.
Question 1 (a-b) is based on the following paragraph.
There are many types of rain, and they all create a different mood.
Spring rain on fields and flowers can feel refreshing. On the other hand, a cold, steady rain in the middle of winter can make you feel a little sad. A thunderstorm might feel frightening, or it might feel exciting. All types of rain are
necessary to water the earth’s grasses and plants. No matter where you are, you can use the mood created by rain as an inspiration to start writing. -

“Exploring Criminological Theories in Specialty Courts and Media Influence on Criminal Behavior: A Case Study of Marshall” Specialty courts, also known as problem-solving courts, have emerged as a unique approach to addressing specific issues within the criminal
Assignment Overview: Answer all three questions/parts in paragraph form. Question/Part three scenario contains three questions.
Search the Internet and research a problem-solving court (i.e. drug court, veterans court, teen court, re-entry court or homeless court). Discuss at least one criminological theory that serves as a foundation for the specialty court you selected? (SLO 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 & 6)
Does music, TV shows and films that glorify drug usage, encourage youths to use drugs and/or engage in delinquent conduct? Should all images on TV of drugs and alcohol be banned? Discuss at least one criminological theory that justify your position. (SLO 1, 2, & 6)
Scenario 1: Marshall is a 24-year-old construction worker who lives at home with his mother. During the week, he goes to work on time, does his work, and comes home. Occasionally, he will go out with a group of coworkers on a Friday evening. He has one other secret. He burglarizes homes and garages in the neighboring communities, selling what he steals via the internet or at pawn shops two counties over.
This past weekend, he was arrested during a burglary when he entered a home where the homeowner was present. His mother had to mortgage her home to bail him out of jail. While driving him home, she started to berate him, stating that he has ended up “just like his father, a criminal” and that she will probably end up dying early due to the stress of having a criminal son.
Marshall was angry and blurted out that it was her fault, that this was the only life he knew because his father never taught him anything worthwhile. He said that his mother and father fought all the time, and the main subject of their fights was his constant drinking. Using scenario 1, answer the following three questions:
Do you think people are born criminals, or is it learned behavior, or other contributing factors that would have an effect? Discuss at least one criminological theory to explain and support your reasoning.
Are the statements from Marshall about responsibility only used to shift blame? Why or why not?
Select one criminological theory from the text and apply it to Marshall’s situation.
Deliverables: A three–four page double-spaced paper. A minimum of three full pages is required with a last separate page for the citation of sources. -
“Teaching Fraction Sense: Strategies and Reflections for Future Educators”
As an aspiring educator, you might be teaching the concepts from Weeks 2 and 3 to students. This assignment will give you an opportunity to think about what that situation might look like as you create a resource for a future teacher. The future teacher might be you or someone else.
Review the content, your notes, and your Journal Reflection Questions from Weeks 2 and 3. Your reflection answers will help you complete this assignment. Identify the ideas that would be important for your future self or another future teacher to remember.
Choose 1 of the following formats to use for the resource you’re creating:
A 10- to 12-slide Microsoft PowerPoint presentation with speaker notes
Create your resource. In your resource:
Identify the topic(s).
From your perspective, develop the important student learning outcomes for the mathematical concepts from Weeks 2 and 3.
Include any rules and definitions that are important for students to learn.
Discuss strategies your future self or another future teacher could consider when developing ideas for teaching the concepts.
Share parts of your reflections that were meaningful to you and discuss why. For example, you might include observations of your own learning, the use of the learning tools, things that were surprising to you, connections you made, or any other topics that you want your future self or another future teacher to remember.
Create qualitative and quantitative explanations of one, two, and three-dimensional space
Just some quick notes about the Summative Assessment. What this assignment is looking for is a summary of the key vocabulary words and their definitions as well as the major concepts, rules, and processes that you might be expected to teach. It is completely acceptable to research those skills that you are not comfortable with, just be careful to cite your resources properly, using APA format.
The idea is that you will take the most important ideas from this chapter and present them. Part of this presentation will be as you might present it to students, however, there are two other parts that students sometimes struggle with.
One of these answers the question: “What specific strategies, tools, manipulatives, and models will you use to teach fractions?” Here, the expectation is that you will describe strategies that are specific to the teaching of fraction sense (this may be in addition to the general strategies that you might use to teach anything, such as, “Keep the lesson engaging.” I strongly recommend that you make one specific slide that lists the models, representations, or other strategies that you might use to teach this topic. The other is your reflection. Write a few sentences about how you learned numeracy. Was it a positive or negative experience for you? How will this influence the way you plan to teach your students? I strongly recommend that you make one specific slide that lists explains what you learned about fraction sense, how you learned it, and how that will impact the way you will teach it.
A list of references may be needed. Make sure to list any reference where:
You looked up or copied a definition
You used to help you learn a concept
You copied an image or picture.
Be sure to refer to the APA style manual or Citation Generator for assistance with this. -

I have attached these readings down below. Please only use these sources.
Your essay will need to determine which aspects of the readings are most relevant to the question and why. Your essay’s structure and argument should reflect your own considered response to the question based on what you have read.
Each essay prompt consists of two parts: the initial question addresses the content and argument about the topic; the second question asks you to reflect on why there is variation (sometimes considerable) among the scholars you have read. Think of the first part as the central core of your essay. It will be your attempt to sort out the ‘how’ and ‘why’ of history and explain what historians have found significant. Think of the second part (‘Why, in your view, do these scholars offer such diverse explanations?’) as an invitation to reflect briefly on issues of method and historiography. Why did your scholars arrive at conflicting or converging conclusions about the topic and to what extent does this derive from their interpretive methods, types of evidence, chronological or geographical focus, etc?
