  • “Budget Cutting Options for ACME Industries: Strategies to Reduce Costs and Maintain Financial Stability”

We have followed Fred Maintainer as he has had to lease additional space, figure out the operating costs associated with a new production line and then develop a ten year capital plan for ACME Industries.  As is often the case, change is constant and business has to be nimble based on consumer demand.  A recent downturn in the economy has left ACME with declining sales, revenues and profits while costs are staying the same or increasing slightly due to inflation and raising health insurance costs.
It is clear ACME needs to do something dramatic to help its balance sheet.  Projects will need to be scaled back as ACME’s growth assumptions need to be put on hold.  More importantly, the CEO and CFO have issued a directive that all non-revenue generating business units are required to create two budget cutting options – the first is to provide a budget reduction of 5% and the other is 15%.  Let’s assume today’s date in the ACME Industries world is July 1st and the fiscal year is the same as the calendar year.  In other words, Fred is half-way through the current fiscal year.
Based on cuts of 5% and 15%, develop a consolidated (include operating and capital budget) for the current year and next year’s budget reflecting those two scenarios and how you would recommend ways to save money using your work in previous modules.
Provide a spreadsheet and narrative in no more than 5 pages to address this most urgent situation that ACME Industries finds itself in and be sure to address the following competencies from the field as identified in the syllabus:
1.1 Appropriately communicate orally and in writing in diverse settings.
1.3 Identify all stakeholders involved in the project process.
2.1 Demonstrate principles of effective project and process management.
2.3 Analyze methods, materials and equipment required to implement projects.
2.4 Demonstrate scheduling and resource planning techniques to project activities.
2.6 Implement workplace processes, procedures and safety strategies.
2.8 Employ contract, procurement and delivery strategies to the project process.
4.1 Demonstrate business and management fundamentals of the organization – people, place and service
4.3 Evaluate project disputes based upon case facts and contract content
4.4 Demonstrate business and project accounting and cost control

  • Title: “Comparative Analysis of Cloud Service Models and Their Security Services”

    I will narrate.
In this project, the CEO of Best Clothes Online Inc. (BCO) has asked you to
develop a detailed comparative analysis of cloud service models and their
security services. A comparative analysis provides an item-by-item
comparison of two or more alternatives, processes, products, or systems.
In this scenario, you will compare the pros/cons of cloud service models in
terms of security responsibilities and level of control between cloud
    consumers and Cloud Service Providers.
Questions from the CEO to answer:
What are the differences between IaaS, PaaS, SaaS in terms of shared
responsibility between cloud consumer and Cloud Service Provider?
What are the pros/cons of each model?
What security services are offered by each model?
How can each model be used to support Disaster Recovery?
How do the costs compare between models?
Which model is considered better for small, medium, and large
    businesses?
You will present your findings to the owner of the company in a narrated
PowerPoint presentation with 15 to 28 slides.  Use the Cloud Security
    Presentation Template.
    Presentation Guidelines
It is recommended to use the Cloud Security Presentation Template.

One to two slides on the Security Services of SaaS
One to two slides on how SaaS can be used to support Disaster Recovery
One to two slides on the pros/cons of SaaS
    One slide on the conclusion.

Do we apply triage (who gets care first)?
Do we use any type of rationing of health care?
Can we share health information through the use of electronic records?
How can we meet competing health needs fairly under reasonable resource constraints?

  • Challenging the Myth of Writer’s Block Challenging the Myth of Writer’s Block Writer’s block is a common term used to describe a period of time when a writer is unable to produce any written work. It is often portrayed as

For this essay, you will need to select a misconception, myth, or just flat-out bad idea about writing and address it. You will need to find evidence to dispute that idea. This will require you to consider a number of things:
Who espouses or promulgates this bad idea? (Context)
    Why is it bad? (Thesis)
Why does it matter that it is bad? (Exigency)
What is the reality, and how do you know? (Research)
For example, you could write about the myth that African-American vernaculars are grammatically flawed, how that affects African-American communities, and how the myth has been proven false. Or, you could look into writer’s block as a pervasive phenomenon or take to task the myth of the writer as a solitary genius. Please do not shy away from linking two or three of our “bad ideas” together to make a larger point about how writing is misunderstood. Whatever you do, follow up with a new interpretation, rule, or heuristic for writing that displaces the myth you’ve chosen to expose. We will talk about how to do this effectively, but you should know that simply disproving a myth does not necessarily make it go away; people are not often welcoming of uncertainty in the place of former, perceived certainty.
For this assignment, you will need to incorporate a minimum of six (6) sources. At least one of your sources must help you articulate the strongest opposing viewpoints or counter-argument to the position you are taking regarding the cultural myth you are addressing. Use primary, secondary and tertiary sources to support your claim. These sources can include a person you interview yourself, excerpts from primary source interviews, a documentary, a book, a journal article, a newspaper article, or course readings from Bad Ideas About Writing. Any sources that you find outside of the Farmingdale Library Databases must be approved by me. The rhetorical success of your argument will depend largely on your ability to choose strong evidence that your audience finds plausible and persuasive. Use the MLA style format to document your sources.
Your essays must be typed, using 12-point font and 1.5 spacing. Please submit the final draft of your essay to the DropBox.
Before submitting your essay, ask yourself the following questions:
Is my introduction enticing? Would a reader with only a marginal interest in my topic be motivated to read further after reading my introduction?
Is there any way for me to strengthen and/or clarify my thesis (without using personal pronouns)?
Have I done a good job of explaining the myths or misperceptions I am challenging?
Have I effectively addressed opposing viewpoints without resorting to condescension or disrespect?
Have I chosen strong evidence/example/s to debunk the myth/s in question?
Are my paragraphs well developed with a controlling idea tying the information in each paragraph together?
Am I transitioning smoothly from one idea to the next, one sentence to the next, and one paragraph to the next?
Have I accurately paraphrased important information from my sources in my own words?
Have I cited my sources correctly in the body of my essay?
Have I sufficiently introduced, contextualized, and explained quoted material i.e. have I “sandwiched” my quotes?
    Have I avoided over-using quotation?
Are my sources properly formatted on the Works Cited page?
Are there any grammatical errors or typos in my essay that might distract my readers?
**MUST USE MY ANNOTATED BIBLIOGRAPHY SOURCES FROM THE ATTACHMENT**
