    So, first, select three essays from these four: textual analysis, controversial viewpoints report,  position essay, problem-solution essay.
    MY ESSAY TO CHOOSE FROM ARE THE FILES I ATTACHED AND I ALSO PROVIDED THE COMMENTS FROM MY PROFESSOR’S FEEDBACK FOR EACH ESSAY. PLEASE READ THE FEEDBACK AND THE DIRECTIONS PROVIDED BELOW TO START THIS ASSIGNMENT.
    Begin by reviewing my notes on your essay and also by determining if you see any possible revisions that you would like to add.  As you begin revising, please keep notes on each essay, using the revision checklist below.  You will need one revision checklist for each essay.  Include:
    Revision Checklist
    Essay Unit number (1,2,3, or 4)
    Essay Title
    List of edits that you completed.
    For Example:
    Sentence structure
    Grammar and Mechanics
    Thesis
    Support
    And/or whatever else you edit on the essay
    Part Two, Reflection Essay 
    Second, compose a Reflection Essay that addresses why you made the edits in each of the three essays.  (Please avoid explaining that I suggested the revisions—we both already know this) Ask yourself how the edits improved your essay, and explain your thoughts on these improvements. Try to have at least one well-developed paragraph on each essay.  
    Then, discuss how you have grown as a writer this semester, referring to the essays but also to your own self-reflection.  Consider:
    What is the greatest difference between my writing at the beginning of this semester and now?
    What is the most important aspect of writing that I learned this semester?
    Have I grown more confident or comfortable as a writer?
    How will I use my writing skills from this semester in my future classes and career?
    And/or whatever else you choose to include in your Reflection.
    To Submit:
    Use your revision checklist as a Title Page for each of your three revised essays.  As you write and revise, please save your Revised Essays, Checklist Title pages, and Reflection Essay in a SINGLE Word Document titled Portfolio.

    For this assignment you will begin by conducting research on the neurochemical effects of psychoactive substances. You will also apply this research to a specific drug or drug class, so it will be helpful to consider this choice before beginning your research. Start with the information from your textbook and then find at least two other scholarly sources (three total) on the following: The neurotransmission process
    A full description of what the process is, beginning with the presynaptic neuron and through to the receiving neuron. Also, discuss options for reuptake or remaining in the synapse. How substance use changes neurotransmitters
    Specific brain regions affected by use of various substances
    Then, in a 3-page expository essay:
    Break down the findings of your research for how substance use changes neurotransmitters, the neurotransmission process and specific brain regions affected by the use of various substances. Include a specific explanation for each of these three areas individually. Next choose one specific drug or drug class and identify your choice.
    Explain the specific neurotransmitter changes caused by your chosen substance and the consequences of these changes.
    Explain which brain regions are affected by use of this substance and the consequences.
    Your assignment should be a 3–page expository essay, not including the title and reference pages, and should include the following elements:
    Title page: Provide your name, title of assignment, course and section number, and date.
    Body: Answer all the questions in complete sentences and paragraphs.
    Your responses should reflect professional writing standards, using proper tone and language. The writing and writing style should be correct and accurate, and reflect knowledge of skills and practice in the human service profession.
    Reference page: Sources listed in APA format.
    Include a minimum of three scholarly or academic sources to support your responses and conclusions.
    Use Arial or Times New Roman 12-point font, double-spaced and left aligned.
    Use standard 1″ margins on all sides.
    Use APA formatting and citation style.
