For this assignment, you should assemble four(4) to five(5) pieces of scholarly literature related to your topic.
A literature review is a descriptive summary of research on a topic that has previously been studied. The purpose of a literature review is to inform readers of the significant knowledge and ideas that have been established on a topic. Its purpose is to compare, contrast and/or connect findings that were identified when reviewing researchers’ work. Oftentimes, literature reviews are written to ground a study in a particular context of what is known about a subject in order to establish a foundation for the topic (or question) being researched.
Assignment Description:
For this assignment, you are asked to complete a draft literature review your topic. You are to locate at least 4-5 academic articles on your topic and write a 4 page literature review on the articles you’ve selected.
Organize your articles by sorting and classifying their findings in a meaningful way, always considering your original topic and inquiry question.
**I also suggest you take a look at the samples I provided to assist you in your writing, especially if you’ve never done this before. Please pay attention to the samples as they could be really helpful
Below is a pretty general outline of how a literature review CAN be organized; please follow this outline
I have already written the introduction (1a-1c). Please complete part 2 and 3
1. Introduction
The introduction is used to establish the context of your review to the reader. To establish the context, it is important to do the following in this opening paragraph:
a. Define the topic of your study and provide any background information that helps your reader to understand the topic.
b. Explain your reason (perspective) for reviewing the literature on this topic.
c. State your research question explicitly.
2. Body
This section of your paper begins with an explanation of how you have organized your literature review and describes findings from articles that provide answers to your research question. Before you begin this section, you may want to organize your articles by themes based on the articles’ findings (sometimes called results). After you sort your articles, it is important to give your sorted groups a descriptive name. The names of the sorted articles will become your headings for each of the paragraphs that you write in the body of your review. To write the body of your small-scale literature review, it is important to include the following:
a. Write an introduction paragraph for the body of your review. This paragraph tells the reader specific information on how many articles you reviewed and how you sorted the articles into common themes based on the findings (results).
b. This will be a paragraph that describes the first theme that you identified and compare, contrast and/or connect the articles you’ve selected.
c. This will be a paragraph that describes the second theme that you identified and compare, contrast and/or connect the articles you’ve selected.
d. This will be a paragraph that describes the third theme that you identified and compare, contrast and/or connect the articles you’ve selected.
3. Summary
This is the last paragraph of your small-scale literature review. In this paragraph, it is important to summarize the main findings from the articles that you reviewed and to point out the information that you found particularly important to know that answered the inquiry question that you established in the first paragraph of your review. Try to conclude your paper by connecting your inquiry question back to the context of the general topic of study.
4. References/Works Cited
This is the last page of your review. It serves as a listing of all references that you mentioned in your paper.

Title: “21st Century Portraits: Conveying Power and Authority” For this assignment, I have chosen a portrait of Angela Merkel, the current Chancellor of Germany, taken by photographer Annie Leibovitz in 2014.
This week we looked at portraits of Henry VIII and Francis I – they showed intimidating men who believed in their absolute authority on Earth, that they answered only to God, which is what we’re meant to see and think.
Find a 21st-century portrait of someone and tell us what it conveys. Is the person intimidating like the two kings or is there a different attitude or message that we, the viewer, are meant to have?
Do not pick the same one as a classmate. -

• Practice critical reading skills by evaluating the text and forming your own point of view
• Prepare to discuss the reading in class, where you will be invited to share your thoughts and listen to your classmates’ points of view
• Prepare for the next timed essay, in which you will be asked to write on a topic related to one or more of the reading assignments, and you will be asked to cite one or more of the reading assignments as sources
Before you begin, make sure you have carefully read “Texting all day? You’ll feel happier if you pick up the phone and chat” by Jill Suttie.
Word count: The entire assignment should be between 200-400 words.
1. Describe your reaction to the text as a whole. For example, did it make you think differently about the topic, and if so, how? Could you relate with anything the author said? Were there any points that you particularly agreed or disagreed with?

Title: “Exploring the Concept of Pure Altruism: A Comparative Analysis of “Why Do Human Beings Do Good Things?” and “A&P””
First, read the article “Why Do Human Beings Do Good Things? The Puzzle of Altruism”. In this article, Steve Taylor argues that people are capable of “pure” altruism, meaning that they are not motivated by any selfishness. The word ALTRUISM means being unselfish and concerned for others even when it may hurt us or not be in our own best interest.
Second, read the short story “A&P” by John Updike. In his story, John Updike writes about a young man who takes a stand. Is it altruism?
Third, think about this prompt.
Using examples from BOTH texts respond to the following:
Do you agree with Steve Taylor’s argument that there is such a thing as “pure” altruism?
Do you think the narrator’s actions in John Updike’s “A&P” are an example of pure altruism or is the narrator acting selfishly for his own benefit?
Be sure to include evidence from both texts to support your claims. -

Title: The Extent of Neural Plasticity in Organizing Movement Control over Time: A Review of Experimental Evidence
Prompt: To what extent can an adult brain reorganize its control of movements over the long term? an adult brain reorganize its control of movements over the long term? an adult brain reorganize its control of movements over the long term?
Instructions: Use 3-5 pages, double-spaced. Make use of key evidence from all the articles attached and provide your own opinion in your paper. Present your reasoning in a logical and organized manner and try to write clearly. Support your argument by referring to specific experimental evidence from the articles. Describe the experimental findings in your own words; do not quote the authors. Do not use artificial intelligence software.
Purpose:
The purpose of this paper is to discuss the extent of how our brains are able to organize its control of movement over a period of time. FOcus on the studies shown in each paper. What did they do? How long did they train the particpants (monkeys, humans, etc.) for. If they had to redo some trials why? And what did that show reveal about their findings. The last paper “Ramachandran” provides intresting findings on phantom limbs anddiscuss what they hypothesised. Expalin how these findings were not confounded unlike the other papers, but still provide and interesting insight into the extent of how visual feedback can influence the patients sensation. For each articl focus on the guidnace questions listed on the first page. (see attachements)
Discuss the topics and mechanism addressed in each article, how they contradict and how they build on each other to show how population coding really works.
“Neural plasticity” refers to the capacity of the nervous system to modify itself, functionally and structurally, in response to experience and injury.
DO NOT:
DO NOT USE AI, I will not pay if AI is used as I will have to rewrite the paper myself anyways
DO NOT USE ALTERNATIVE SOURCES aside from the articles attachted.
INSTRUCTIONS:
Please Write the paper to discuss the attached articles in chronological order:
Held & Hein. (1958)
Held (1965)
Nudo et al. (1996)
Moritz et al. (2008)
Serradj et al. (2023)
Ramachandran & Rogers-Ramachandran(1996)
The paper needs to address the over arching prompt thorughout the paper. Accuratly explain what each researcher did, they experiments they perfomed and the signficance of their findings. How did the progression throughout all 6 articles show our we have progressed in our understanding on neaural plasticity. Address how the papers build on each other to help us understand population coding, and how they differ from command neurons.
I attached a previous paper that was given a grad of A-. The structure of this old paper should serve as a model for the current paper on neual plasticity. -
