  • “Creating a Sober Living Support Group for Young Adults: A Person-Centered and CBT Approach”

Your final paper is to develop a group plan for your area of emphasis: college, mental health or school. You are to develop either a psychoeducational or counseling group.  The group you write about should be created specifically for this course, utilizing the group principles as outlined in your textbook and other readings.  Groups you may have developed for other courses will not count for this assignment.  Listed below in the course calander are the major topics that are to be addressed when proposing a group plan. Where there is overlap, a specific point only needs to be made once.  Please refer to the Group Final Paper Rubric and Writing Rubric and the outline below for details on how to write your final paper.
    Introduction
Brief overview of population, issues(s), setting, intended outcomes, theory/approach, and group structure
    Literature review
Literature that supports your plan for working with this population, issue(s), and setting, using your intended theory and structure (5-6 sources related to your specific population, issue(s), and setting)
You may need to be creative in creating connections among these where none exist in the literature – we will discuss this point more in class
    Group plan
Group goals/outcomes based on population, issue, and setting
    Group structure
    Psychoeducational – session-by-session plan
Counseling – overall goals/topics to be addressed
    For both
Clearly tying goals to the structure
Clearly describing how you will start and terminate the process
    Recruiting, screening, and informed consent
Include referenced to literature/texts to justify
    Assessment and evaluation
    Ongoing – process evaluation
At the end – outcome evaluation
    Ethical and legal considerations
This can be a separate section, or woven throughout
    Leadership
Particular competencies (content and process) needed by the leader
Plan to build competencies if not already there
Specific skill, strategies, techniques that will be particularly important
Not all basic skills need to be addressed – just ones that will be most important
    Also include theory-specific strategies/skills
Working with individuals just out of rehab trying to stay sober – the plan is to keep them sober, learn how to live a sober life again
Challenges include – living in the same area, working the same job.
    My age group is 18-24
10-12 sessions, meeting twice a week
Using person centered theory and CBT theory to run groups
An intake assessment before they join the group
    An assessment after each session
I need an abstract attached laying out each group’s plan

The grades.jasp file is a sample data set. The data represent a teacher’s recording of student demographics and performance on quizzes and a final exam across three sections of the course. This data file is used in all four papers (Week 2, Week 4, Week 6, and Week 8).
This week’s assignment is on correlations. You will analyze the following variables in the grades.jasp data set:
    Variable Definition
Quiz1 Quiz 1: number of correct answers
    GPA Previous grade point average
Total Total number of points earned in class
Final Final exam: number of correct answers
Step 1: Write Section 1 of the DAA: The Data Analysis Plan
Name the four variables used in this analysis and whether they are categorical or continuous.
State a research question, null hypothesis, and alternate hypothesis for total and final.
State a research question, null hypothesis, and alternate hypothesis for gpa and quiz1.
Step 2: Write Section 2 of the DAA: Testing Assumptions
Test for one of the assumptions of correlation – normality.
Create a descriptive statistics table in statistical software to assess normality. This table should include the four variables named above, including skew and kurtosis for each variable.
Paste the table in the DAA Template.
Interpret the skewness and kurtosis values and determine whether the assumption of normality was violated or not violated.
Step 3: Write Section 3 of the DAA: Results and Interpretation
Using the statistical software, paste the intercorrelation matrix for the four variables into the document.
Below the output, first report the total-final correlation including degrees of freedom, correlation coefficient, and p value. Specify whether or not to reject the null hypothesis for this correlation.
Second, report the gpa-quiz1 correlation including degrees of freedom, correlation coefficient, and p value. Specify whether or not to reject the null hypothesis for this correlation.
Step 4: Write Section 4 of the DAA: Statistical Conclusions
Provide a brief summary of your analysis and the conclusions drawn about correlations.
Analyze the limitations of the statistical test and/or possible alternative explanations for your results.
Step 5: Write Section 5 of the DAA: Application
Analyze how you might use correlations in your field of study.
Name two variables that would work for such an analysis and why studying the relationship may be important to the field or practice.
Submit your DAA template as an attached Word document in the assignment area.

    Topic Introduction:
Under New Mexico law does a business organization materially breach a contract for services when the business employees during the installation of metal siding on a home failed to install underlayment between siding and the frame of a home?
On January 1, 2023, Sesame LLC, a home painting company, entered into a contract with Grover, homeowner, to install siding on Grover’s home in Edgewood, New Mexico. The Sesame contract stated in part:
Sesame, LLC is a fully licensed contractor with extensive experience painting and beautifying homes in the State of New Mexico, and is deeply familiar with the diverse weather throughout the State.
Sesame, LLC prides itself in employing competent, experienced, and well-trained employees.
All work is done with care and competence, and is compliant with the local and State codes, regulations, and laws.
Sesame, LLC stands by its workmanship and completion of all projects in a timely manner.
Sesame, LLC agrees to fully install metal siding on client’s home in a timely manner. It is estimated that the full installation will be 6 weeks from the date the project is initiated.
Sesame, LLC agrees to initiate the project within three (3) weeks of client’s 50% payment of the total contracted price.
The contract was for a total price of $75,000, and required a 50% payment before work was started. Grover paid $37,500 on February 1, 2023. On March 1, 2023, Sesame began work on Grover’s home, after the metal siding was delivered to Sesame, LLC. On March 20, 2023, Sesame employees began installing the metal siding (after removal of the original siding and patching of the frame). Sesame did not install underlayment between the metal siding and the frame of the house. On April 1, 2023, Grover contacted Sesame to inquire about the lack of underlayment between the metal siding and the wooden framing of the home. Sesame LLC advised it was not required and was not part of the contract. Sesame, LLC advised that if Grover required underlayment an additional cost of $25,000 was required. Grover did not have the additional amount and did not demand underlayment. After the siding was installed on April 20, 2023, Grover was advised by the local building commission that underlayment was a regulated requirement and that the failure to install underlayment would be required. The board also advised Grover that Sesame LLC was not licensed to install metal siding, and that specific licensing and a permit (which was not sought) was a requirement under the local code and State regulations. Grover advised Sesame. Sesame denied any violation and refused to install the underlayment.

Tips for Success: An aim of business law studies is to assist students in focusing on the key legal principles and factors associated with the practical business areas. Business law largely dictates how to build and run a company; however, the laws further aim to protect liberties and rights, resolve various disputes, maintain order, and set standards for businesses and corporations, and their relationships with individuals and government agencies. One way to focus and evaluate is by evaluating through writing business law scenarios. This enables students to advance writing skills and better succeed in the field of business law study. One more essential thing for business law students is to boost intellectual abilities and improve approach to academic studies and professional activity; this implies a profound analysis of the corresponding legal evaluation. Academic writing is an excellent method to motivate evaluation of legal matters and examine various business law cases, Here are some helpful ideas in writing this essay:
Before you start writing your essay consider the goals you are trying to achieve.
You may make use of legal jargon, but if this business law writing assignment is aimed at language outside your current knowledge field, legal jargon can create confusion and mislead your reader.
Short documents, brief statements, and expressions capture the readers’ attention – better than long ones. Thus, express your ideas clearly and concisely. For instance, get rid of redundant adjectives and deliver a logical analysis.
No matter if you are to discuss some corporate law cases, or if you are answering the question of “why is business law important?”, try to use active voice where possible. Statements in active voice are clearer and often shorter than those in passive voice. This will allow you to win your reader’s attention and trust.
MS Word will check your document highlighting any typos, but this will not make your paper perfect. You should read your document aloud to find any mistakes.
Follow the instructions and rubric expectations.

  • Final Portfolio Submission and Reflection Final Portfolio Submission and Reflection: Reflecting on Writing and Growth Throughout the Semester

IF ANYONE CAN NEGOTIATE A BETTER PRICE LET ME KNOW!
As you know, there is no final exam in this course. Instead, your last major project is to prepare and submit a final portfolio that showcases your writing and what you’ve learned this semester. One of the underlying assumptions of this course has been that writing is a complex process that takes a lot of time, energy, and thought—as well as a willingness to take chances and rethink your work—to do well. Your final portfolio will illustrate this and your understanding of writing, reflection, and revision based on our conversations and activities this semester.
The purpose of this final portfolio is not only to reflect on all that you have learned about writing over the past fifteen to sixteen weeks but also to document your improvement, how your thinking has changed, how your approach to writing has evolved, and to show that you have successfully met the expectations outlined in the syllabus. Your goal is to compile a portfolio that includes a cover letter and your three final projects (e.g., review, annotated bibliography, and research paper), as well as your reading responses and any reflections. Your final portfolio should demonstrate your knowledge and indicate that you have attained the writing skills specified for this course:
be able to develop a topic and present ideas through writing in an organized, logical, and coherent form and in a style that is appropriate for the discipline and the situation.
be able to observe conventions of Standard English grammar, punctuation, spelling, and usage.
be able to write a coherent analytical essay that considers the rhetorical situation and advances an effective argument.
be able to find, use, and cite relevant information.

Your double-spaced cover letter should 1) include an intro with a thesis statement about your own writing and how it’s changed throughout the semester 2) discuss at least 3 of the writing skills above 3) discuss specific revision choices you made on each of the three major papers and why you made them 4) address places where your writing could have been stronger and how, and 5) include a conclusion that describes how you’ll apply your skills in the future and which class activities helped you the most (feel free to also mention which readings you found most interesting or beneficial)
    Research Paper Final Reflection
This informal reflection should detail 1) your research and writing process 2) research/writing techniques that worked well during the process 3) research/writing techniques that did not work well 4) what the process taught you. This should be at least 250 words and appear after your research paper final draft.
Note: You will need to submit your final portfolio via Canvas as one document (.doc or .docx). Please let me know if you have questions regarding how to combine your documents.

(It is the irrational connection of items that are believed to lead to harm/pleasure when they are not actually harmful/beneficial. This construct can be broken into two laws: the law of contagion objects that were once in contact influence each other through transfer of properties; and the law of similarity, objects that resemble each other share fundamental properties.) The measure is attached as well.

For this assignment, conduct a reliability analysis of the internal consistency of items in SPSS (ANALYZE-˃SCALE-˃RELIABILITY ANALYSIS). You can use the default settings of Cronbach′s Alpha. Reliability Analysis
    For this assignment:
    1. Provide an initial Cronbach′s Alpha for the data
    2. Look over the individual items and remove (from the reliability analysis; don′t delete them from the data set) items that don′t have high reliability, rerun the analysis and report your new Cronbach′s alpha. Describe what items you removed and why.
    3. Describe what is happening when you remove items that are not reliable (or internally consistent). Are there any issues with this approach of focusing solely on the internal consistency numbers?
Please attach your output file (.spv file) as well as your Word document with your responses in the assignment dropbox.
