  • Title: Using Power and Privilege for Social Justice in Mental Health Services

    Power and Privilege
Power and privilege are present in society and impact organizations, hiring practices, promotions, workplace engagement, client services, project development, educational services, home-buying processes (for example, home loan rates offered to consumers), and economic development. Reflect on the power and privileges you enjoy. For this discussion:
Share how you can use your power and privilege to advocate for social justice to reduce the social issue presented in your Social Issues assignment. (continued from previous work the lack of mental health service funding)
Next, discuss how power and privilege has adversely impacted the local community or clients (or client system) you work with as a social work intern. Be specific and use the readings to inform your response.

  • Title: Performance Models for Fair and Objective Interviews: Exploring Benefits and Challenges of Different Interview Types

To meet EEO guidelines, and conduct fair and objective performance-centered interviews, theorists and organizations have developed a number of performance models over the past 20 years.
All competency-based models establish expected behaviors, set goals and expectations, monitor performance, and provide feedback.
Choose one of the topics to explain and list benefits and challenges:
    Exploratory interviews
    HR Interviews
    Panel Interviews
    Peer Interviews
    Stress Interview

Everything needed is in the brief.
The topic this is based on is the Judicial Protection in the UK and EU segment of law so I would prefer for someone who is experienced in this field to offer their assistance for this.
    The referencing style is Oscola.
Books and journal sources preferred as the first point of contact before google. In text referencing needed as well.

  • “Sally Doe: A Life of Resilience and Adventure”

or this project you are to find an individual who is at least one generation older than you, conduct an oral history interview, then write the “story” of their life. You are to use the standard oral history interview format, an example of which is provided in the attached Oral History Association guidelines. As part of the Oral History Project, you must provide a typed transcript of the interview questions and responses to show that you followed the proper format. Using information obtained during the interview, you will then write the “story” of your individual. This will be the easy part. The transcript has no page requirement other than that it obviously must be long enough to serve as the basis for a 5-7 page essay. The “story” paper must be typed, a minimum of 5 FULL pages to 7 pages in length, double-spaced, 12-point font, with reasonable margins. The Oral History Project is worth 100 points, 50% of which is the interview and typed transcript and 50% is the 5-7 page essay. The project must be submitted no later than 8:00 AM, May 6. This project offers an excellent opportunity to really get to know someone in your life, to learn history from a living, breathing source instead of from a textbook. NO LATE ORAL HISTORY PROJECT WILL BE ACCEPTED.
Transcript Format: The transcript should be single-spaced and generally conform to the following format. There are no length or page requirements, but it obviously must be long enough to write a 5-7 page essay. All of the information in the transcript does not have to be included in the essay, you can choose what you want to focus on. However, the essay should not contain information not included in the transcript, since that will tell me that your transcript is incomplete. In typing the transcript, you can include notes (in parentheses) about the interviewee’s emotional state, body language, your impressions, etc. that you can integrate into the essay.
    Interviewer: Jane Doe (JD)
    Interviewee: Sally Doe (SD)
Date of Interview: July 6, 2017
JD: Thank you for agreeing to be interviewed, I’m really excited to get to know more about your history. Would you tell me what your full name is and where you were born?
SD: You are quite welcome; it is an honor to be part of your project. My name is Sally Forsythe Doe, and I was born in Itaugua, Paraguay on August 14, 1933.
JD: Paraguay – I did not know that!
SD: I know, it’s sort of an unusual place to have been born.
Essay Format: Just use a standard essay format. It should be double-spaced with reasonable (default) margins, using a 12-point font, and 5 FULL pages – 7 pages in length (longer is ok, shorter is not). The essay can be written in the first or third person. You are telling the story of your interviewee’s life, their personal slice of history. You can add historical context if it seems necessary and you can include observations from the interviewee. For example, if your interviewee started smiling when relating a particular memory, you can put that in the essay. You are encouraged to include photographs that represent your interviewee’s life, but they do not take the place of regular text pages. The transcript records what was said in the interview, the essay is your interpretation of what was said. You are the storyteller, so make your interviewee’s history come alive

  • “Sociological Observation: A Study of Social Interactions at a Local Grocery Store” “Maintaining Academic Integrity: Avoiding Plagiarism and AI-Generated Work”

    Paper 1
    “Sociology Around Me”
This paper will help you to understand the sociology around you. For this assignment, you will write a paper based on a familiar experience. You will observe a situation or place you are familiar with from a sociological perspective and write a paper about the place/situation using the tools and concepts that we have learned in class. You can visit one of six places: a grocery store, a gym, a restaurant, a mall, a sports game, or a place of worship (church, mosque, etc.). This exercise is intended to encourage you to use a sociological lens to examine a familiar situation in a way you have not before. You will write a short paper based on this experience. I suggest observing the selected location for at least 10 to 15 minutes. To do well, you should consider several things before you go and then write the paper after. It may help to write yourself some notes prior to going and writing field notes immediately after the completion of the observation. This will make writing the actual paper easier.
*Note: If you are uncomfortable using a sociological lens to examine your place of worship, I strongly urge you to choose a different social situation.
Please do not get involved in any illegal or dangerous activities while conducting this exercise. Do not conduct any original research involving human subjects.
There are a few things to consider before conducting the exercise, think about what you expect the experience to be like. When and where will you go? Is it free and open to anyone? If not, how will you gain access to the place? Why did you choose this experience? (Personal and/or sociological interests). What are your personal expectations about the event or place? Do you expect it to be fun, boring, exciting, loud, quiet, etc.? Who do you expect will be there? What do you expect the people and place to be like? How do you know what to do and act in this situation? Do you suppose that it will be difficult or easy to fit in? What do you think are the consequences of being an outsider in this situation? The Paper
The paper should be approximately 3 pages long (or longer) and should be typed, 1″ margin on all sides, font size 12, and double-spaced. The goal of this paper is for you to think sociologically and analytically about a taken-for-granted social situation and demonstrate your ability to apply ideas about social status, social roles, and norms to a real-life situation. You should draw on sociological concepts and ideas we have learned and use them appropriately. In particular, you will need to write about how people interacted in the social situation. Make sure you include examples of social status, social roles, and norms. Please use at least one source (it can be your textbook or academic source) to support your statements. Utilize ASA citation style for your sources.Links to an external site.
Make sure you include the following
Description of the situation: Describe the setting. What was it like? When did you go? What did you see? Who was there? The InsidersIdentify the status positions of the key actors in the situation. What roles are expected of those people?
What were some of the norms that you noticed? In other words, what were all of the insiders doing? How were they acting? What were they wearing? How did they look? How would you feel if you did not know the norms? What would you do to fit in (watch everyone else, read the instructions, ask someone, etc.)?
    Structure for the paper
The following general structure may be useful to arrange your paper.
    Title of the paper
Introduction (background/thesis statement/importance of the paper)
    Description of the place/ situation
    Key actors and their roles/expectations
    Sociological concepts/norms with examples
Conclusion (restate main pints and provide closure)
    Intext-citation and Reference (ASA)
Your paper will be checked using Turnitin for plagiarism. This program keeps a database of previously turned-in papers as well. Assignments with more than 24 percent similarities in Turnitin will not be accepted. Additionally, any paper with more than 20 percent AI-generated work will be awarded zero and reported as an academic integrity violation.
