  • “Recreating the Past: Bringing Art to Life with Tableau Vivant”

    Tableau Vivant
Tableau Vivant image project is worth 10 points. Students can select any image discussed as part of our lectures and recreate the painting/sculpture/drawing/tapestry/etc. as a photograph with live people and objects. This project asks students to reimagine the static image as a “living” moment.
Using a camera, take your photograph and try – as best as possible – to match the formal qualities of your selected image.
As a reminder: students can use any object/image discussed during our class lectures. Refer back to your Loom lecture videos and notes for ideas. You can also email Dr. Hunt to verify your image before working on the project.
Students cannot use Photoshop or image editing software to “improve” or alter the photograph; rather, the objective is to try and simulate the light, shadow, color, and texture in real life!
