  • Title: “Delivering Bad News: Communicating a Potential Cancer Diagnosis to a Hospitalized Patient”

    “Delivering Bad News”
You are working as an AGACNP in the inpatient setting. You have been following an 80-year-old female for the past four days who was originally admitted with acute cystitis and possible pyelonephritis. She was found to have weakness, dehydration, and suspected prerenal acute kidney injury in combination with the infection, which prompted hospital admission. She has been alert and oriented on all examinations.
During hospital admission, she underwent a renal ultrasound to evaluate kidney function further as her acute kidney injury was not improving by hospital day #3. The ultrasound revealed renal masses which were suspicious for potential renal cell carcinoma with a suggestion for a chest/abdomen/pelvis CT for further evaluation.
Answer the questions below, while considering your role as the advanced practice provider who has seen the patient while hospitalized.
How would you approach communicating this diagnostic finding with the patient?
Would you order the chest/abdomen/pelvis CT for this patient?
Would you include any other persons in this difficult conversation or in this patient’s overall care?

  • “Qatar’s Hosting of the 2022 FIFA World Cup: A Strategic Move towards Stigma Management and Bridging the Gap between the Arab World and the West”

    My research question is:
“To what extent was Qatar’s hosting of the 2022 FIFA World
Cup driven by sports washing or stigma management strategies, and what were the
underlying factors that influenced this decision?”
What i want to prove in this dissertation is that:
    Qatar
wanted to host the world cup to bridge the gap between the Arab world in the
west (stigma management) – pride for their country and the Arab world – I do
not think that they wanted to host the world cup to wash away poor human rights
records – if anything it brought light to mistreatment of migrant workers – I think
that the world cup was a chance for Qatar to show pride for its country
The methodology i want to use is content analysis: I want to use news articles to explain the successes of qatar using counter stigma management with the world cup to forge way into a respectable seat in foreign affairs
In the files attached i have explained what theory I want to use : Rebecca Adler-Nissen’s Stigma management theory.
