  • “Empowering Women through Education: The Impact on Political Participation”

The paper should be up to seven (7) double-space pages long, deal with an aspect relevant to
women and politics, and include a title page and a list of bibliographical references at the back.
(The title page and bibliography page are included in the ten pages.) Select a research question
that interests you and try to answer it convincingly, supporting your views with assigned readings
and other materials pertinent to the subject. Try to be analytical, rather than descriptive; think
of “why,” not only “what” and make an effort to back up your statements with some kind of
evidence more than offer your own opinions.
In sum, ask why things happen the way they happen, do not only describe various situations,
countries and cases. Do not list bits of information, but think critically about them and develop
an argument that is coherent and based on the information you amass from various sources. This
paper should be a piece of individual research whose argument is based on concrete evidence,
not an opinion piece that makes statements without backing. Whether you use the Chicago or
MLA style, your writing style and reference list must be consistent. In other words, do not use
both footnotes and endnotes. If, at any point during researching and writing your paper, you
have questions, do not hesitate to contact me by email or through Moodle.
Tip: Do not worry so much about the length of the paper; worry more about its content and the
strength of its argument. Do not just list references at the back of the paper – use them to
construct your argument, and include them in the body of your paper.
    Checklist for research papers:
    • Is your assignment double-spaced?
    • Did you include the cover page (with title and your name)?
    • Does your paper have a clear and distinct introduction, argument and conclusion? Does your introduction state the research question, define the most important
concepts/terms, and briefly mention the steps of the argument (sections of the paper)?
    • Did you include both footnotes and endnotes? You should not. Use one or the other, but
    not both
    • Does your paper read like an opinion piece? It should not. Try to bring some kind of
evidence in support of your argument.
    • Is your argument backed by research (other authors)? It should be.
    • Did you incorporate your references into the paper or just listed them at the back? You
    should.
    • Did you include a bibliography at the back?
    • Are the references in the bibliography arranged alphabetically by authors’ family names?
    • Did you plagiarize or paraphrased anybody else’s work? You should not.
    • Is your assignment not longer than ten (10) pages? Please note: Before handing in your assignments, check your grammar and spelling. Proofread
your work and make sure sentences are correct grammatically. A well written paper conveys your
thoughts better than a negligently written text. Plagiarism and paraphrasing are not acceptable,
and you should give credit to authors for their ideas and interpretations. The textbook we used for this class was Women, Politics, and Power by Pamela Paxton. Either the 3rd or 4th edition of the book will work. I need the base of the paper to be supported by the textbook, but any academic sources or news articles can also be used to support the paper. I planned to write the paper on the influence of education on women political participation, but if you would like to narrow it down and specifically talk about one or two countries ( perhaps a contrast one with goof education systems for women and one without) The paper is to be written in MLA formatting with references at the end for everything used please.

  • Title: The Evolution of the Democratic Party: From Hamilton and Jefferson to Andrew Jackson

In 500-800 words, answer the following questions in a written essay using and citing material from primary source documents, jstor.org, your textbook, and lectures:
How did the political rivalry of Hamilton and Jefferson evolve into the creation of the Democratic Party under Andrew Jackson?  Hint: describe what Hamilton and Jefferson believed, then describe what Jackson did and believed, then go back and write your introduction answering the question. Quoted material does not count towards your word count. Use Chicago style footnotes or end notes. • Title: Survey Data Analysis and Descriptive Statistics

In this assignment you will create a dataset, codebook, and descriptive statistics from the survey you developed and disseminated!.
Dataset: After completing your survey in GoogleForms, download the data in Excel form. You can use GoogleSheets for some of the work, but it is limited in its performance of statistical tests (and all of the how-to videos are in Microsoft Excel).
Codebook: After downloading your data from the GoogleForm, provide the corresponding information in the codebook so you know how response categories are coded. This should be the first sheet in your Excel Workbook
Descriptive statistics: You will conduct descriptive statistics for three different variables PER GROUP MEMBER, but at least one nominal, one ordinal, and one continuous (ratio or interval).  You will also produce a thematic analysis of one open-ended question. Each variable’s descriptive statistics will be presented on a separate worksheet in your Excel workbook (for a total of 4 worksheets). You will also write a sentence or two describing the variable’s descriptive statistics.
Keep in mind you may have to/want to recode your variables to present more meaningful responses. If you choose to delete the missing data (NAs/don’t knows/NAP) be sure to report in your written description how many responses were considered missing.
See the EXAMPLE assignment: EXAMPLE descriptive stats Galuzzi Fall 20.xlsx Download EXAMPLE descriptive stats Galuzzi Fall 20.xlsx.
Refer back to the Resources posted in Module 3.
    Guidelines
Here is what is expected for each variable. All this analysis will be completed in Excel.
    1) For categorical variables, create figures (column, bar, pie charts, etc.) to depict the frequencies in addition to frequency tables that include counts and proportion/percent. Write a brief description of the data in an open cell for each variable.
    2) For ordinal variables, create figures (column, bar, pie charts, etc.) to depict the frequencies in addition to frequency tables that include counts and proportion/percent. Write a brief description of the data in an open cell for each variable. You will also provide full descriptive statistics including mean, median, mode, standard deviation, range, minimum, and maximum. Write a description in an open cell reporting this information.
    3) For interval/ratio variables, provide full descriptive statistics including mean, median, mode, standard deviation, range, minimum, and maximum. Write a description in an open cell reporting this information.
    4) For open-ended questions, conduct a thematic analysis like you did in your field observation analysis where you identify the primary themes/domains/categories representing the patterns in responses.
    What you will submit:
Excel file with the raw data, codebook, and descriptive information for each variable on separate worksheets. The presentation of the information should be clean and readable. For each variable’s descriptive statistical information where appropriate you will create a figure to visually depict the data. For open-ended information, you will present your thematic codes where you define and describe the main themes.

  • Title: Selecting the Best Candidate: A Comprehensive Approach Using Interviews and Other Selection Methods “Exploring the Impact of Social Media on Society: A Critical Analysis”

Purpose: Selecting the best candidate from a pool of potential applicants is often challenging and requires objectivity, patience and a strong understanding of suitable methods to best suit the context. In this task, students are required to identify and design the most appropriate selection methods to successfully fill a current role.

Assessment Brief: Using the ‘high standard’ job ad found for Assessment 2, students should develop a process for selection, using interview and at least one other method.

    You are required to:

Students will produce a 2000 word (+/- 10%) (Cover page, Table of content, reference list and appendices NOT included in the word count) report that identifies the most appropriate tools (discuss the most useful selection tools for this job, could be 4 or 5 or more tools!) to select a successful applicant for the nominated job (the good job from Ass 2). From the tools discussed above, students should then select and discuss in detail only two (2) of these tools, with one (1) being an interview.  Use theory and evidence pertaining to interviews and another tool to argue why and how you would use these.
For example, for an initial interview, (using evidence/research to determine best practice and argue why) consider:
who would conduct (Company role? Would it be an individual or panel? Who would the panel comprise?)
how many candidates to be interviewed?
    length of interview
    interview questions (type, quantity)
how are candidates prepared/what information are they given?
    How are they assessed?
What is undertaken to ensure the interviews are reliable, replicable, authentic, fair.

Include a copy of interview schedule as an appendix

Students should identify the various options available to select an appropriate candidate and develop a deeper understanding of the principles of conducting an interview as well as other selection tools.
