Assessment Description: Observation and Collaboration with Mentor Teacher
Assessment Description
Effective instructional methods and engagement strategies create a meaningful way to have students actively learn. Implementing more student-centered learning models allows students to make connections between what they know and what they are learning, and then apply it in different situations.
Allocate at least 3 hours in the field to support this field experience.
Observe and discuss the following with your mentor teacher:
Part 1: Inquiry
During this field experience you will observe a secondary classroom in one of the humanities content areas or social studies (history, social sciences, and geography), the arts (visual and performance), or English/ELA (reading, writing, and oral language), paying particular attention to the instructional method the teacher utilizes. Following your observation, collaborate with your mentor teacher and inquire about the following:
What instructional methods do you use? How do you decide which instructional methods are best suited for each lesson?
What strategies do you use to integrate all areas of humanities in a lesson?
What strategies do you use to assess student learning before, during, and after instruction?
What strategies do you use to engage students in learning?
What is your strategy to group students for a lesson/project?
Part 2: Collaboration
In addition to your observation and discussion, share with your mentor teacher the requirements document you created detailing the requirements of future field experiences for this course. Specifically address the following:
Discuss ideas for your lesson plan in an attempt to correlate with the topics the mentor teacher will be covering.
Schedule to assist the mentor teacher with a specific lesson during Topic 4 that will require you to interact with students.
Schedule the implementation of your lesson plan during Topic 6 with the class or a small group.
Identify and meet with a school librarian or media resource specialist and discuss how to integrate technology with your lesson.
Use any remaining field experience hours to assist the mentor teacher in providing instruction and support to the class.
In 250-500 words, summarize your observation and collaboration with your mentor teacher. What methods and strategies discussed do you anticipate using in your future professional practice? Based on your conversation with your mentor teacher, how prepared are you to meet the requirements in the future field experiences?
APA format is not required, but solid academic writing is expected.
This assignment uses a rubric. Review the rubric prior to beginning the assignment to become familiar with the expectations for successful completion.

Assignment Title: Project Plan for Week 7 Final Project
Goal:
The goal of this assignment is to choose a topic and create a research plan that will contribute to the Week 7 Final Project.
Description:
In the Week 1 and Week 2 Lessons, we have read about two steps of the BIG6 model: task definition and information seeking strategies (CO1 & 2). As you consider the Week 7 Final Project, you will complete a project plan to help you focus your energies and generate ideas to help you be successful academically. To complete the Week 3 Assignment: Project Plan, you have to complete Parts I and II.
Part I:
Click on the Assignment tab to review the instructions for the Week 7 Final Project. After you understand what is required in Week 7, write one or two sentences per bullet point (there are additional questions and points to help you flesh our your ideas):
Topic:
Choose a topic that is realistic and one that you want to learn more about.
The topic might be a career field you want to go into or something else that deeply interests you.
Scope and value:
What is the scope of the topic and your research?
What value does it bring to your life? To your professional life?
Communication medium:
How are you going to communicate your project?
How will you make your presentation different and unique?
Critical thinking questions:
Pose different questions that will help you with your research and investigate your topic in more depth.
Post critical questions that will push you to improve.
Subtopics (optional).
Brainstorming (optional).
Part II:
Part II is a reflective paragraph that represents your critical thinking process when thinking about possible sources and your research. You are NOT looking for specific sources now. Consider the best possible sources as presented in the week 2 Lesson. What type of sources will work best for your research? How can you support your project plan with credible, current, reliable, accurate, and relevant information?
Once you complete Parts I and II, please submit the WORD document.
Consider the following:
– Keep in mind that a robust project plan will help you with the Week 5 and Week 7 assignments.
– Please see the Week 3 Rubric to review grading expectations.
I will also refer back to any writer who writes this document to finish the following projects regarding this assignment. The class is Information and Digital Literacy- COMM120. -
“Exploring Meaning in Art: An Analysis of Formalist, Psychoanalytic, and Relational Aesthetics Criticisms through Select Artworks”
In exploring how we, as the viewer, derive meaning from art, we learned how scholars often frame their analyses in specific ideological criticisms. In this assignment, you will be doing the same.
For your paper, you must match one of the following artworks with one of the following criticisms:
Formalist
Psychoanalytical
Relational Aesthetics
When selecting a criticism, make sure that you understand what makes that criticism unique. What is essential to that criticism? How do we see this with the artwork?
Once you have made your selections, you will write a paper analyzing your artwork, focusing on how the artwork exemplifies the criticism.
You must address the topics we usually address in your analyses (subject matter, formal qualities, subtext, symbolism).
While your textbook does explain these ideologies well, you may benefit from doing some outside research. Below are three articles that may assist you.
Art History Briefing: Formalism in Art
Psychoanalytic Literary Criticism: An Overview (Although it is framed for literature, the concept is transferable to art)
Relational Aesthetics – Critique of Culture and Radical Research of Social Circumstance
Your paper should be 600-1,000 words, with 12-point font, double-spaced, and have a works cited page(the works cited page is not included in your word count requirement—you can use MLA, APA, or Chicago, but make it consistent throughout the whole paper).
Regarding citation in your work, if you are discussing a topic you learned from an article or the textbook, you need to cite it (regardless if you are quoting it or just paraphrasing—both on your works cited page and inside your paper itself). If you are referencing someone else’s ideas, you must translate them into your own words. Intentional or accidental—if you plagiarize—you will receive a 0.
Be aware that I am asking for an analytical paper, not a descriptive or reflective paper. Your thoughts should be organized and not formatted as stream-of-consciousness (such as “I thought this, then realized this, etc.”).

“Improving Childhood Immunization Rates through Parental Education: Exploring Perceptions, Beliefs, and Interventions” “Enhancing Childhood Immunization Rates: Identifying Successful Approaches and Improving Practice among Clinicians”
WEEK 4 DISCUSSION: LEVELS OF MEASUREMENT
What is the incidence of blood clots from COVID-19 in females over the age of 35?
The above question is an example of a research question. A research question consists of three parts and guides the methods and approaches in which you will study the question to find answers. The research question includes: the question, the topic, and the population or variables. In the example provided above, the question is examining the prevalence of blood clots from severe COVID-19 in a selected population. From this question, the variables can be assessed, considerations can be analyzed, and populations can be sampled in order to guide the research.
During Week 2, you developed a research problem statement based on a topic of interest to you or your specific area of practice. Using this research problem statement, you will develop a research question. “A research question is a concise, interrogative statement that is worded in the present tense and includes one or more of a study’s principal concepts or variables” (Gray & Grove, 2020). These questions typically point to the type of study that will be conducted and serves as a guide for the research.
For this Discussion, reflect on your research problem statement. Consider the independent and dependent variables of your research problem through the construction of a research question. Reflect on the potential levels of measurement for your variables and the rationale for the labels, as well as consider the advantages and challenges that you might experience in the statistical analysis of your proposed variables.
Reference: Gray, J. R., & Grove, S. K. (2020). Burns and Grove’s the practice of nursing research: Appraisal, synthesis, and generation of evidence (9th ed.). Elsevier.
TO PREPARE:
Review your research problem statement from Week 2 to develop your research question.
Review the Learning Resources on how to describe variables.
Consider the levels of measurement for your variables: nominal, ordinal, interval, or ratio.
After reviewing your research question and considering the levels of measurement, analyze your classification for each variable. What was behind your reasoning for labeling the variables? How might the data be analyzed based on these labels?
Consider advantages and challenges that you might encounter in the statistical analysis of your proposed variables.
Main Post Week 2 : Starting the Research Process
Childhood immunizations are essential in reducing the rates of fatal diseases in children and enhancing their general health. Nevertheless, there are a lot of things that could be improved regarding parental knowledge about immunizations even though all of them are proven to be effective. This lack of understanding has reduced immunization coverage and exposed children to numerous preventable diseases (Albers et al., 2022). As a pediatric nurse, I must look closely at this problem and identify the best ways to enhance parental education while working for higher immunization rates. The suggested study will focus on discovering why parents don’t grasp the information related to the immunization of children. Therefore, based on the participants’ perceptions, beliefs, and possible challenges, this study aims to identify strategies for education intervention to improve the parents’ knowledge and attitude towards immunization. Socioeconomic status, academic level, cultural differences, and source of healthcare data will be examined in the study. Furthermore, issues touching on ethics like consent, privacy, and cultural sensitivity shall also be observed. In conclusion, this study aims to enhance positive practice changes in nursing by providing healthcare workers with knowledge and improved strategies for communicating on immunization and alleviating parental concerns, resulting in increased immunization coverage and the security of children’s lives.
This research problem is of significance because it relates to an issue of public health concern affecting children and their future. Hereby, identifying successful approaches, this study can contribute to enhancing immunization rates and, therefore, safeguard high-risk groups. This study’s findings will help improve practice among clinicians, establishing immunization coverage among the target groups as part of public health strategies. Thus, Al-Edresee (2021) explains that by enhancing parents’ knowledge, it will be possible to cultivate improved family relationships with healthcare providers and develop a healthier population.
