  • Title: Promoting Inclusion and Diversity in Curriculum Development: Strategies for Educators and School Administrators

    Assignment 5
For Assignment 5, you will be viewing a series of videos and reading articles on modifications to curriculum by several authors. The authors discuss the importance of inclusion and diversity in curriculum development. The videos and articles are located on your Blackboard account as well as most are also on Youtube.com.
Dr. James Stanfield provides vital information on the employment of inclusive strategies in the classroom. He describes the advantages of the inclusive model and how an educator can create an inclusive climate in the classroom. The link to his materials is: https://stanfield.com/11-strategies-promote-inclusion-in-the-classroom/
In addition, here are several useful articles regarding how teachers should deal with children of various backgrounds. These articles can be found in your Blackboard account and/or Youtube.com as indicated.
Castro, Q. “Twelve Tips All Educators Must Know about Educating African American and Latino Students,” The Huff Post, December 6, 2017.

Penna, R. “Understanding Your Community: The New Arab-American Student,” On-Target, New Jersey Association of School Administrators, February/March 2012.
Penna, R. “Understanding Your Community: The New Indian-American Student,” On-Target, New Jersey Association of School Administrators, December 2011/January 2012.
Penna, R. “Understanding Your Community: The New Chinese-American Student,” On-Target, New Jersey Association of School Administrators, October/November 2011.
“Accommodations and Modifications for Students with Disabilities” is a video which deals with the modifications and accommodations that students with special needs require to follow a district’s curriculum. For students with disabilities, the right teaching strategies and techniques can be as important to school success as appropriate IEP goals. The educational supports are similar, but they are not the same in all cases.

    For Consideration:
After reading the above articles, how should educators insure that all children, regardless of ability level, race or national origin, are provided with the best opportunities to learn?
What steps, do you as a school administrator, take to insure the inclusion of all students into the fabric of your school?
What differences in instruction must be considered when dealing with children who come from different cultures?
As a building principal, how can you insure that student evaluations will insure that learning styles are taken into account?
As an educational leader, how do you involve the parents of children from foreign backgrounds into your school?
Describe the differences between accommodations and modifications.

  • Title: The Role of Tools in the Acquisition of Knowledge: An Exploration of Theories of Knowledge

    REWRITE MY TOK EXHIBITION
please look at the files below
PROMPT: How Are Tools Important in the Acquisition of Knowledge?
Refer to the IB TOK EXHIBITION rubric/guide.
    Needed changes/teacher comments:
the exhibition should focus on theories of knowledge, and not only fields of knowledge. The word “tool” has been interpreted very loosely here, and the exploration of an argument very one-sided.
    OBJECT 1:
this moves on to a very technical explanation, but not yet an understanding of epistemology; “HOW do we know what we know?” – Beginning, 3rd sentence, ‘This amp shows epistemology
This is fine, but not really a strong argument due to the nature of the object, as this kind of musical knowledge may seem limited – Second to last sentence, reference to ‘musical knowledge’
There is quite a bit about different fields of knowledge, but not really various THEORIES of knowledge. – Last Sentence
    OBJECT 2:
This may or may not be considered a tool due to the nature of its publication and authenticity. This could be a very controversial choice and quite risky.
I recommend selecting another academic paper as a “tool”
This needs evidence and can be highly debated – ‘that transforms our financial systems’
This needs to be more clear in terms of explanation and evidence -‘financial systems/cryptocurrencies and blockchains.’
this is a little wordy, it could be better to use evidence rather than rhetoric as this is not an argument paper, inasmuch as an exploration of the acquisition of knowledge– how does this lead to gaining, learning, a specific type of financial knowledge? –
ecosystem within imaginations, how a simplerandom document in the Internet
what kind of knowledge is this and how can evidence be used to substantiate this idea?  –
of its ideas, highlightingthe critical role of tools in expanding human knowledge
are these long lasting and stable? –
practical innovations that reshape entire field
    OBJECT 3:
This example is used on this website: please find another. https://www.themantic-education.com/ibtok/2021/03/10/tok-exhibition-sample-3/ –
The Large Hadron Collider by CER
be more specific, and include what kind of knowledge – The LHC demonstrates the importance of scientific tools in the acquisition of knowledge.

You are asked to perform some article search, or relevant YouTube and TedTalk segments and reply to the topic posted: Forecasting- Either Time Series of Regression.
Posting for topic: you need to submit a short summary of the article (small paragraph, perhaps 6 to 8 MEANINGFUL sentences) along with the source (either the URL link or the journal/magazine reference and copy of article); that way, the whole class can benefit from your findings.
It is your responsibility to ensure that the article is accessible (Either the URL link is active or provide a pdf or Word copy of the file). Failure to do so will result in the posting not being graded.

Possible Key Topics: Example of use of  forecasting in the Industry (Healthcare, Businesses, even sports); software available; Forecast accuracy;  economic forecasting models; etc.You could choose other leads as long as they relate to the posted discussion topic.
    Couple of remarks:
1-It is the student’s responsibility to ensure that the article is accessible (Either the URL link is active or provide a word/pdf copy of the file). Failure to do so will affect the grade for this assignment, possibly result in a Zero.
2- Also any “Copy&Paste” straight from the article is considered plagiarizing and will result in a Zero for this assignment and/or the whole course (refer to course syllabus on Honesty Code)

  • “Exploring the Possibilities of Interstellar Travel: A Literature Review”

In this activity, you will submit the first draft of your literature review chapter. It should read like a narrative, with the purpose of this chapter being to bring the Scientific American-level reader up to speed on your technical approach and conceptual system. This chapter should contain more references than any of the others, as it will reflect the primary information base that you are working from.
For example, if your topic area is interstellar travel, this chapter might start with something like this:
While interstellar travel has been the subject of many science fiction stories, including Star Trek (citation), actual technological realities are far different. While the Enterprise routinely travels faster than the speed of light (citation), actual spacecraft velocities are still relatively slow (citation). Einstein’s special theory of relativity limits objects to velocities less than the speed of light in a vacuum (citation). The Enterprise fictitiously employs a warp drive to get around this fundamental constraint (citation). Presently, there is actually a theoretical effort underway that may allow travel by warping space (citation). Since the nearest star is about 4.24 light-years away, a real warp drive would come in handy.
Since we are employing a top-down approach for our cost estimate substantive emphasis should be placed on finding cost analogs for selected systems and subsystems. Be sure to capture all sources per APA in the reference section of your paper.
Refer to 1.4 Information: Orbital Debris Mission Cost Estimate Project for more information.
Be sure to submit the entire draft of your paper as completed to this point.
Do not post your assignment at an attachment. You should copy the text into the discussion for your classmates to read.
Read and respond to at least two of your classmates’ responses and any comments given to you by your instructor with constructive commentary. Your responses to your classmates should be thought-provoking and continue the conversation.
