    See below for my 5w1h
    class,
Briefly describe the problem you have personally seen or experienced in your community or workplace.
The problem that I have experienced in the military would be handovers/ change overs. This mainly happens when someone switches out of that job for a reason.
Answer the following questions, following the 5WH1 method:
What are the details of the problem?
Details about this problem are when one soldier is in a position and working that position for some time. Once set person is leaving for whatever reason a new person comes in. So, all the knowledge that the soldier that leaving takes with them. While the new soldier must take a period to learn the ways and policy of that unit.
Who is impacted by the problem?
Mainly the person that is replacing the outgoing personnel. Secondly it would be that company waiting on the new person to get caught up with the flow and workload.
The person mostly impacted by the problem is the unit and that incoming person.
When did this problem begin, and when could it reasonably be resolved?
I don’t know when this problem actual begins, but I know it’s a revolving door. This problem could be reasonably built with 2-3 years and resolved the following year.
Where is this problem taking place?
This problem is taking place at the unit/ workplace.
    Why is this problem important?
This problem is important because if not address it will delay if not stop production in the unit and company.
How could you potentially or partially address or resolve this problem?
To resolve the problem, it would be simple to make a continuity book or share drive. This will keep the flow of production going without any stops. For example, if someone must leave or step away. The book or drive would be there to help guide the next person continue the job. All how-to paperwork/ slides would be in there and examples forms and doc so it’s no kickbacks for things that can be avoided.

  • “Interpreting Sources: The Biases of Human Perspective and Critical Thinking in Historical Analysis”

Not everything you read or see is true.  Facts, data, etc. are useless without being interpreted.  The problem with interpretation is the fact that humans are the ones doing the interpreting.  Regardless of how hard you try to remain objective, your analysis of anything will be biased.  Your age, gender, political beliefs, childhood experiences, etc., do not simply vanish when interpreting something.  Keep that in mind as you critique your classmate’s responses in the discussion posts.  You can, however, analyze sources critically.  By asking key questions like: Why did the author create this?  Who was the intended audience?  What was the background of the creator?  Finally, your critical thinking skills will be enhanced significantly if you attempt to interpret the object/document from a perspective other than your own (i.e., How would a person from a different region interpret this?  How would a wealthy man/woman interpret this? etc.).

  • Title: “Supply Chain Management Expert with a Passion for Problem-Solving” As a member of the Coles’ supply chain management organization for the past two years, I have developed a strong understanding of the company’s operations and systems. My

You have been employed in the supply chain management organization of Coles for the past two years. You are very excited when you are asked to join a team being formed to address serious inventory management problems often associated with the introduction of new products. Too often, customers who make a trip to Coles to purchase a highly advertised new product are disappointed to find the store is out of stock of that particular item. Such stockouts result in lost sales for both Coles and the product supplier and the potential loss of customers as shoppers look elsewhere to find the new product. The resulting loss of customer goodwill can have a long-term effect on sales. Solving this problem will require a balancing act; the company needs to carry sufficient inventory of new products to meet customer demand while avoiding excessive inventory levels that increase costs.
The team you have joined consists of nine people representing the finance, marketing, and supply chain management organizations at both Coles and two of Coles’ largest suppliers. The team is charged with looking at a wide range of solutions, including improved analytics and forecasting systems, customer-loyalty analysis tools to provide insights into customer buying patterns, and improved distribution methods to cut costs and delivery times.
The leader of the team has asked that each member share a brief personal background paragraph that outlines the individual’s knowledge and experience relevant to solving this problem. Create a paragraph for a team member who is a well-qualified, but relatively inexperienced representative of the Coles’ supply chain management organization.
