  • “Exploring the Solar System: Integrating ELD and Science for Elementary Students”

Imagine you are a social studies, science, or math content area teacher. Choose one. You will be planning an Integrated ELD lesson for a whole class of students whose English proficiency varies from basic to proficient. As you plan your lesson, you will need to consider how you will provide differentiated scaffolds for your English learners, but also challenge your English proficient students. Your driving standards will be the content area standards, but you will also use ELP Standards 6–8 to help support your English learners. ELP Standards 6–8 represent interactive communication, which supports listening, speaking, reading, and writing. Select an elementary grade level (K–5) and a content area (social studies, science, or math). Review the Arizona History and Social Science Standards, Arizona Science Standards, or Arizona Mathematics Standards for your chosen grade level. and choose at least 1 content standard to assess in your lesson. Access the following ELP Standards for your selected elementary grade level: Arizona English Language Proficiency Standards Kindergarten Arizona English Language Proficiency Standards Grade 1 Arizona English Language Proficiency Standards Grades 2-3 Arizona English Language Proficiency Standards Grades 4-5 Review ELP Standards 6, 7, and 8, and choose an ELP standard and sub-skill to address in your lesson. Pay attention to the expectations for each proficiency level (Pre-Emergent/Emergent, Basic, and Intermediate). This will help you determine what differentiated scaffolds to provide for your English learners. Review ELP Standards 9 and 10 as well and determine if any of these language standards/sub-skills apply to your lesson. Remember, ELP Standards 9 and 10 are language standards that focus on vocabulary and grammar. Create a 30- to 45-minute social studies, science, or math lesson (Integrated ELD) that will assess your chosen standards and include differentiated instructional strategies to support your English learners. Use the Lesson Template to complete your lesson.

  • Title: “Navigating Birth Control Options for a Teenage Patient: A Case Study”

You are seeing a 15-year-old female patient for a gynecological exam and to explore birth control options. The patient’s mother scheduled the appointment after learning that her daughter has become sexually active. The patient is current with all immunizations, including Gardasil, and has no significant health history that would contraindicate the use of birth control.
This is the patient’s first gynecological exam, and she expresses feeling nervous and embarrassed that her mother has shared her sexual experience with strangers. Taking this into account, how would you begin the patient encounter?
As you begin asking questions to determine the patient’s gynecological history, the patient appears frustrated and embarrassed and reminds you that she has only had sex one time. What should the patient understand about the importance of reviewing gynecological history?
What are the most popular birth control methods prescribed in the United States? What determines the success or failure of a birth control method?
The patient expresses a desire for the most effective form of birth control but is concerned about weight gain and other side effects. How should you respond to her concerns?
The patient seems unsure about the best option for birth control and asks if she can take some time to think about the choices. As the use of birth control is ultimately the patient’s choice, you offer to answer any questions and agree to a follow-up visit or call. The patient asks whether using a condom is okay if she decides to have sexual intercourse before selecting a method of birth control. What should you tell her?

  • “The Challenge of Linguistic Classification: Critiquing and Improving an Essay on Verbs and Pronouns”

It’s a really important essay. The teacher is really strict with everything and is a grumpy lady.
The necessary informationnare in the CREDIT file and I am sending my last essay as well, her comment on that was:
E (which is F for her) Unmanaged non-native compilation of mostly irrelevant sources
Introduction: too long, but let’s say OK (but see Quotes below)
Ch. 2 – Rethinking: you didn’t justify the division of verbs into action and static. (Which group would Mod and Aux be in?) – meaning is not the point of the classification.
I didn’t even understand the division of pronouns: as if there were two word types, both called pronouns? And in which group would relative and interrogative pronouns belong?
What’s missing is a suggestion of how some groups could be combined (it was one of the requirements in the assignment), and it’s not here.
Chapter 3: in the text you are just repeating what Fillmore said – and what you suggest does not show that you have understood it.
And there’s something about combining prepositions and conjunctions – which belongs in the chapter preface. Except that after you’ve suggested splitting pronouns and verbs it would be (by Fillmore’s criteria) a very unfortunate idea. And this part of the text looks very (!!!) unoriginal. The rather sophisticated argumentation then directly contradicts what you wrote before. The conclusion is a word salad copied from who knows where.
CITATION: I have pointed out several times that in linguistics, bibliographies are NEVER footnoted! And certainly not repeatedly the same thing, just with different pages!!! Linguistics is not a historical science and has its own rules. Yours looks silly. Moreover, a reference using a footnote number obscures what actually belongs to the quote and what is your text – the whole paragraph? Just one sentence? Judging by vocabulary and syntax, quite a lot of the text is non-original.
Moreover: the authors you cite must be authorities in the field… I’m not sure Novak+Papcunova are among the current linguistic stars (plus it’s 27 years old) – some dictionary would be a better source for a historical overview. And Frawley is also not the person to reveal that verbs convey agency and aspect- that’s a trivial fact since Panini. I really didn’t understand the relevance of Doesksen’s analysis of deictics in Estonian to your essay.
Being able to cite relevant authors – in the right way is a significant sign of your competence, so try better next time. This way it looks like you didn’t feel like formulating it in English and so you copied it.
I just need it to pass and get credits and I’m getting desperate. I already paid someone before and it still didn’t fly.

  • “Addressing Health Disparities and Improving Outcomes: A Discussion on the Role of Advanced Practice Nurses” “Improving Patient Satisfaction: A Specific Measure for Success”

    Step 1 Introduction:
Open up a Word Document and write directly into the word document. Remember you need to save on your computer and another reliable drive or computer. You don’t want to lose your work, so save often and to 2 different places….ALWAYS!  Save as you go and do not wait until your assignment is complete to save or you will risk losing information.
Write an introduction to the discussion. A good, solid introduction will grab the reader’s attention by stating interesting facts, statistics or points about your topic. Then you should conclude this introductory paragraph by including one, concise thesis or purpose statement. The thesis tells the reader why you are writing the discussion. The entire paragraph should be about 3-5 sentences. Keep in mind that paragraphs should include a topic sentence, 2-3 support sentences (min.) and one concluding statement (thesis sentence).  Review APA manual 7th edition section 3.4 for details on starting your paper and rules on introductions.
    Step 2 Concepts:
Use a proper heading with this section, then begin your 2nd paragraph. You can look at APA p. 47-49 for the proper level of headings. In this section you need to differentiate among research, evidence-based practice (EBP) and quality improvement (QI) in a robust discussion. When you differentiate between these concepts, they should explain why they are similar (if applicable) or different and should summarize similarities and differences rather than definitions. In fact, you should be paraphrasing what you review in the textbooks about these concepts and describe how they are applied to your specific phenomenon of interest (POI) and in relationship to your Advanced Practice Nurse role. This section  should be no more than 2 paragraphs. Textbooks/peer reviewed resources serve as great resources here.
    Step 3 Health Disparities
In this section you are taking a deeper dive into health disparities. According to the Centers for Disease Control, health disparities are experienced by socially disadvantaged groups of people based on preventable differences in the burden of disease, injury, violence, or opportunities that would allow you to otherwise achieve optimal health. Health disparities are inequitable and have a direct correlation to unequal distribution of resources. They can be improved though. Addressing the social determinants of health can help by addressing the positive and negatives associated with 5 key domains: economic stability, education access and quality, health care access and quality, neighborhood and built environment, and social and community context. In this section you should provide a robust discussion on how a person’s health or burden of disease is impacted by these domains. Be sure to discuss these areas in relation to your POI/APN Role. Support this section with peer reviewed references. You should have 2-3 well developed paragraphs for this section.
Be sure to review the links that were provided to you in the Readings/Resources section of the module:
Health Disparities LinkLinks to an external site.
Social Determinants of HealthLinks to an external site.
    Step 4: Donabedian Model:
In this section of the discussion, you will differentiate among 3 measures: structure, process, and outcomes. Be sure to clearly describe how they are different.  Then you will apply each of the measures (structure, process, outcome)  directly to your POI. Think about why you chose that POI and what you would like to change in practice. What did you describe in your clinical question of the POI approval process?  Is there a new policy, a metric that you want to improve? This should guide the direction of your focus for each of your measures as you determine what is needed to accomplish change. Likewise, this serves as a building block for future assignments. Each measure should be specific rather than generalized so that you can see exactly what is needed to determine success or failure. Below is a comparison of a general versus specific measure. You will re-visit the concept of structure, process, and outcome measures throughout the coursework and program so be sure that you have a good understanding of the concepts now. Be sure to incorporate peer reviewed references throughout your discussion. You should include 2-3 paragraphs for this section.
Incorrect General Measure that lacks specificity:  Patient satisfaction scores will be improved.
Correct Measure that includes specicity: Patient satisfaction scores will be 85% or higher and evaluated quarterly for improvements.
Be sure to review the link below for assistance on the measures
Donabedian ModelLinks to an external site.
    Step 5 Conclusion:
Include a heading and write your conclusion paragraph. A good conclusion:-never introduces new info.-summarizes what was learned/discussed and does not simply state what you did or re-state only the purpose statement-citations are not expected in this section.
    Step 6: Turnitin:
Submit your initial post ONLY to Turnitin. Be sure to review the info. on turnitin so you know how to submit, what to look for when your report is returned, etc.  Rather than focus on the percentage of similarity, review what was highlighted and change anything that can and should be changed. There is some wording that can’t be changed, i.e. quality of life, American Academy of Pediatrics, Institute of Medicine Aims, so don’t worry about those. Focus on changing the areas of similarity that you can change and re-submit the paper. You do not have to submit this report to the assignment area;  faculty will review the reports directly in Turnitin. You do NOT have to submit the cross or peer posts to Turnitin.
    Initial Post References:
Minimum of 2 peer reviewed  from journals that are current (within 5 years) references in the initial post; no more than 1000 words excluding headings, in-text citations, and references.
Copy and paste your discussion directly into the discussion area. Attachments should not be included in the discussion area. No title page needed. Try to make sure that there is at least 1 space in between all paragraphs and individual references. You do not need to double space this document. You are permitted to use first person for these informal discussions.
