The T2D excel file Download T2D excel filecontains all patients that you identified with an ICD diagnosis of diabetes that visited a clinic or hospital within the past year. In this data set, you pulled all procedures and observations (OBS), race (RACE), and gender (GENDER) for each patient. You also provided each patient with a study ID (STUDYID) to avoid having personal identifiable information in the registry. For this assignment, you may use any statistical software (including excel). You must provide descriptions of your methods and code (if applicable) used to calculate your responses in addition to the numeric answers for each question. You will be graded heavily on your description of your methods or “the how you got your answer.” Assess the overall population How many unique patients are there in the file? Which races do the patients represent? How many patients (# and proportion %) in each race? What is the average age of the population? Range? Median? Identify patients with Hemoglobin A1C testing on record What is the name of the OBS value that codes for A1C test/observation in the data set? How many patients (# and %) had ≥1 test on record? How many total tests were conducted during this time period for the entire population? What is the Average, Median, and Range of tests among those who were tested? How many patients are managing their diabetes (defined as ≥2 A1C tests)? How many patients in each race have their diabetes managed/unmanaged? What is the average age of the managed diabetes population? Range? Median? Title: Understanding Asthma: A Case Study Analysis
J.S. is a 42-year-old man who lives in the Midwest and is highly allergic to dust and pollen and has a history of mild asthma. J.S’s wife drove him to the emergency room when his wheezing was unresponsive to his fluticasone/salmeterol (Advair) inhaler. J.S. was unable to lie down, and began to use accessory muscles to breathe. J.S. is immediately started on 4 L oxygen by nasal cannula and intravenous (IV) D5W at 75 mL/hr. A set of arterial blood gases is sent to the laboratory. J.S. appears anxious and says that he is short of breath.
Vital signs
BP = 152/84 HR = 124 bpm RR = 42 Temp = 100.40F
ABGs
pH = 7.31 PaCO2 = 48 HCO3 = 26 PaO2 = 55
Investigate the condition of asthma and the manifestations of the disease. Analyze the case study provided and determine what symptoms support the diagnosis of asthma.
Do you have any concerns with the numbers above?
Identify what may be causing J.S. to have an exacerbation of asthma.
Prepare a 3-5 page paper outlining the causes of asthma and the symptoms that the client presents. Use at least one scholarly source to support your findings. Examples of scholarly sources include academic journals, textbooks, reference texts, and CINAHL nursing guides. Be sure to cite your sources in-text and on a References page using APA format. -
Technology Plan for a Two-Day Business Conference “Exploring the Impact of n on Various Topics: A Comprehensive Analysis”
Scenario
A company you work for is planning a two-day business conference. Conference speakers and attendees will be traveling from different cities. Over 15 speakers and 200 attendees are estimated to attend.
You are the lead technologist on the planning committee for this conference. To ensure that the event runs smoothly, you suggest that the company use the following web services for the conference:
Smartphone application to be used by conference attendees (e.g., Whova, 10Times, Grupio)
Web service functions and goals:
Lists the conference schedule
Tracks the number of attendees in each session
Provides a communication platform for attendees to virtually network throughout the conference
Allows attendees to add the sessions they want to attend into their calendars
Registration sign-in to be used by conference greeters
Web service functions and goals:
Allows user to enter a person’s name to see if they have already registered
Sends data to a server as to the time that each attendee arrived at the conference
Confirms whether registered attendee already purchased a ticket
Allows non-registered attendees to pay the ticket price and register
Virtual personal assistant to be used by event coordinators
Web service functions and goals:
Tracks the flight numbers and departure times for each speaker
Tracks when each conference speaker needs to be picked up from the airport
Provides GPS directions from airport to hotel
Provides the hotel information for each speaker(room number and check-in times)
As the lead technologist, you have to explain why and how these web services are necessary to the other members of the planning committee. In order to do this effectively, you need to create a technology plan. Not only do you have to consider the user perspective within your plan, but you also need to consider the developer perspective.
Directions
Develop a Technology Plan to present to the Conference Planning Committee. You may use a diagram or other visuals within your plan.
In your plan, be sure to:
1.
1.Explain the benefits of using web services from both a user perspective and a software developer perspective.
Consider the following question:
Why would your company create its own program that would be accessible over the web instead of using the three web services mentioned in the scenario?
2.Describe the purpose of each web service described in the scenario from a user perspective (smartphone application, registration sign-in, virtual personal assistant).
Consider the following questions:
Why would conference attendees use the smartphone application before, during, or after the conference?
Why would conference greeters use the registration sign-in before, during, or after the conference?
Why would event coordinators use the virtual personal assistant before, during, or after the conference?
3.Identify additional user requirements that developers would need to know prior to the conference.
Topics to consider may include how conference attendees may want to:
Use the conference schedule
Receive notifications
Interact with other attendees
Provide at least two new user requirements for each web service (smartphone application, registration sign-in, and virtual personal assistant) presented in the scenario.
After identifying the user requirements, explain how each web service functionality meets the user requirements you discussed. Be sure that you are referring to the user requirements you identified to explain how each web service functionality meets those requirements.
Determine the protocols that each web service should use to package and send data over a network, and explain why that protocol would be used to best support the service.
For the first web service, review the header file, shown in this header file resource, to make this determination.
What to Submit
To complete this project, you must submit the following:
Technology Plan
Your technology plan should be 3–5 pages in length and may include diagrams and visuals. Within the plan, you must address all of the topics presented in the directions. -
“Strategic Decision-Making: A Case Study of [Selected Company] on the Dow Jones Industrial Average”
Understanding the use of decision-making in strategic plans is essential for an organization’s long-term success. Most of these decisions are made by top-level management and will affect the direction and success of an organization. Gopaul and Rampersad (2020) explained that while companies may define strategies differently, their strategic planning and decision-making processes should be directly interlinked for maximum efficacy. These decisions guide an organization’s mission, vision, and values, along with extended planning for the future. It is important to understand an organization’s strategic vision and goals and where that organization plans to be in the future.
As you will find in the global companies researched in Fortune, a solid fundamental strategy is used when making decisions. Not all strategies need to be complex. In fact, a simple approach is easy and fast to apply when changes are needed for a day-to-day decision, an unexpected regulatory change, or an outside threat. An additional aspect of strategic decision-making is to consider an organization’s leaders and their possible biases or personalities. Additionally, the decision-making process may be positively influenced if a decision-maker is forward-thinking, inclusive, and collaborative. Conflict often emerges in decisions that have lasting consequences or even immediate impact. An organizational chart may also offer insight into the dynamics of strategic decision-making at the organization you choose to research.
Many organizations use strategy models. This week’s assignment is a good place to begin looking at models and determine which approach(es) best apply to your organization. Be sure to review this week’s resources carefully and any additional literature you locate. You are expected to apply the information from these resources when you prepare your assignments.
