  • Title: The Benefits of Implementing Lifelong Education in the United States Exploring the Importance of Research: An Outline and Reflection

Following the Topic Selection Guidelines below, choose an argumentative topic to research. This will be your topic throughout the entire course (excluding Touchstone 3.1), so the activities required for this assignment will provide the foundation for your future Touchstones. The topic for an argumentative research paper must be an arguable topic, meaning that it involves a stance that advocates for a concrete course of action and at least three supporting reasons which are defensible with credible sources. Additionally, it must take a stance that someone could hypothetically disagree with. You will need to take a firm position on the topic and use evidence and logic to support the position. Touchstone 1.2 includes a research question, a working thesis, a detailed outline, and a reflection on this pre-writing process.
    Sample Touchstone 1.2
In order to foster learning and growth, all work you submit must be newly written specifically for this course. Any plagiarized or recycled work will result in a Plagiarism Detected alert. Review Touchstones: Academic Integrity Guidelines for more about plagiarism and the Plagiarism Detected alert. For guidance on the use of generative AI technology, review Ethical Standards and Appropriate Use of AI.
    A. Topic Selection Guidelines
DIRECTIONS: You may choose any topic you wish as long as the stance is arguable and the supporting reasons are defensible with evidence. Your topic should be current, appropriate for an academic context and should have a focus suitable for a 6-8 page essay.
In order to foster learning and growth, all essays you submit must be newly written specifically for this course. Any recycled work will be sent back with a 0, and you will be given one attempt to redo the Touchstone.
    EXAMPLE THESIS STATEMENTS (off-limits):
    1. Rather than ending at age eighteen, compulsory education in the United States should be lifelong in order to improve civic engagement, teach new skills, and stave off cognitive decline, thus extending life expectancies.
    2. Local governments, businesses, and property owners should replace conventional grass lawns with clover lawns in order to create habitat for pollinators, save water, and reduce maintenance, which will also lower carbon emissions.
    3. Colleges and universities should prioritize academic freedom for students because sensitive discussions on difficult topics are necessary for students to learn, confidence in their own expertise is essential to teachers being effective, and students should be prepared to be exposed to many different opinions.
    B. Research Guidelines
DIRECTIONS: Refer to the list below throughout the writing process. Do not submit your Touchstone until it meets these guidelines. Refer to the Sample Touchstone for additional guidance on structure, formatting, and citation.
    1. Research Question and Working Thesis
Keep in mind: The research question and working thesis are the driving force behind your research and eventual argument.
❒ Your research question should be a single sentence, framed as a question.
❒ Your working thesis should be a single focused sentence, framed as an actionable statement that takes a clear position on the research question and includes three main supporting points for holding that position.
❒ Include your research question followed by your working thesis.
    2. Detailed Outline
Keep in mind: Your detailed outline provides a map of the argumentative research essay that you will write in Touchstone 3.2, including your key claims and the sources that support them. You might not have all seven required sources yet, and that is fine, but at least three are required. (As a heads up, the next unit will focus on sources and will require them all to be credible and mostly peer-reviewed.) The outline is a way to organize your essay and determine which areas (e.g. your sub-points) will require researched evidence as support.
❒ Headings: one for each paragraph with a brief label of the paragraph’s controlling idea(s).
❒ An introduction, at least five body paragraphs, and a conclusion.
❒ Introduction includes your working thesis.
❒ Body paragraphs should each have their own unique title and key points.
❒ At least one body paragraph is devoted to addressing counterarguments.
❒ Conclusion includes notes on your final thoughts.
❒ Subheadings: two to five for each paragraph, below each heading, indicating key points that support the controlling idea
❒ Sources: one to three for each paragraph, as relevant, indicating the support for the key points. Do not over-rely on any single source.
❒ For each source, include the author’s name and the idea or information relevant to your argument (e.g. “Lappé (2017) on mono-cropping corn/soy and production”). Link with a website if it is available.
    3. Reflection
❒ Have you displayed a clear understanding of the research activities?
❒ Have you answered all reflection questions including specific and concrete examples that provide thoughtful insight in all responses?
❒ Are your answers included on a separate page below the main assignment?
    C. Reflection Questions
DIRECTIONS: Below your assignment, include answers to all of the following reflection questions.
Learning to conduct research is important because it is a skill you will use both in academia and in your professional life. It improves critical thinking and empowers you to find information for yourself. Consider the process of researching as a whole. What was the most challenging aspect of the process for you? (2-3 sentences)
The working thesis statement is a proposed answer to your research question. It should clearly identify an arguable topic and take a position on one side of that topic. Analyze the effectiveness of your working thesis statement. (3-4 sentences)
A detailed outline is an effective tool for laying out the progression of an argument. It allows you to consider the arrangement and organization of your ideas, as well as choose places to incorporate outside source materials. Review your detailed outline and summarize the argument you’ve presented. (3-4 sentences)
You will use the same topic on three of the remaining Touchstones in this course. What kind of feedback would be helpful for you? What are specific questions you might have as you go deeper into the research process? (2-3 sentences)
    E. Requirements
The following requirements must be met for your submission to be graded:
Double-space the outline and use one-inch margins.
    Use a readable 12-point font.
All writing must be appropriate for an academic context.
Composition must be original and written for this assignment.
Use of generative chatbot artificial intelligence tools (ChatGPT, Bing Chat, Bard) in place of original writing is strictly prohibited for this assignment.
Plagiarism of any kind is strictly prohibited.
Submission must include your name, the name of the course, the date, and the title of your composition.
Submission must include your research question, working thesis, outline, and reflection questions.
Include all of the assignment components in a single file.
Acceptable file formats include .doc and .docx.

Propose a change that is sensible both clinically and economically.

  • “Exploring Diversity in the Classroom: Strategies for Teaching and Inclusion”

Introduction to the Midterm Research Project
The central concept for your midterm research project is “Diversity in the Classroom”.  A number of assignments you will complete this semester provide you with a basic understanding of this important concept.  You should also have gained some insight into the practice of teaching diverse populations of students in the classroom.  I also hope you have begun to appreciate (if you did not already) the fact that diversity can be a strength to a quality teacher.
With this in mind, you will create a presentation using Google Slides (located in Google Drive).  The appearance of the presentation is up to you.  Be creative.  Experiment with the program.  Use images. You may choose to add a video or audio.  A number of tutorials exist to show you how to create and manipulate Google Slides presentations.  To locate these guides, simply conduct an Internet search for “Google Slides Tutorial”.  If you have ever used Microsoft PowerPoint, you will probably find they work very much the same.
Your final slide should be a “References” slide.  You should cite all your references (both in-text and in the References section) using current APA style.  You must have at least five references.
Topic and Instructions for the Assignment
You will conduct research into the topic of Diversity in the Classroom and present your findings in a Google Slides presentation.  Topics designated as “Research” will require you to conduct online research to respond to the prompt.  Please make use of the Galileo collection on the MGA library website.
Your presentation will be divided into three parts:
Part 1:  Definition of diversity: 3-5 slides
What do we mean when we refer to “diversity in the classroom?”
What are some examples of how students are diverse in the modern American classroom?
How does that compare to what you have seen in the classroom where you teach or where you were a student?
Part 2:  Techniques for teaching diverse students- 3-5 slides
How should a teacher deal with having diverse populations of students in the classroom?  What techniques are useful based on specific diverse characteristics?
Part 3:  Your plan 3-5 slides
Based on what you have seen, read, and experienced, create a detailed plan for teaching diverse students.  You should address specific teaching techniques, methods for managing behavior, or good teaching practices.  Where appropriate, cite the source that advocates specific techniques or methods.
Create a list of 5-10 web-based resources you could use for teaching diverse learners.  Be sure to designate what they do and why they would be useful.

  • Comprehensive Action Plan for Reducing 30-Day All Cause Hospital Readmissions in Adult Patients: A Nurse Administrator’s Perspective

From the perspective of a Nurse Administrator, design the final Comprehensive Action Plan for the clinical issue inclusive of:
    Introduction
Describe the clinical issue chosen as the focus for your course project.
Describe the proposed change for the issue.
Delineate the anticipated benefits to the nursing profession and clinical practice setting.
Goals and strategies to address the clinical practice issue from the perspective of a Nurse Administrator. (Include any updated strategies from the plan you developed in NUR5043.)
    Theoretical Framework
SWOT Analysis, Practice Issue, and Evidence Summary from Graduate Milestone 1
The nurse’s role and responsibility for practice change as a Nurse Administrator
Procedures (what steps are to be taken to complete this change process from start to finish?)
    Resources required:
    Costs
    Participants
    Physical Space
Tools that will be used to evaluate outcomes (pre- and post-assessment tools, learner evaluation forms)
Anticipated barriers and strategies to overcome them
    Methods to include:
Timelines with details of steps for implementation
Evaluation of participant achievement of objectives
Identification of contribution to Nurse Administration, leadership, and management
I am going to attach part 1 that you did. Also instructions feedback as well.
All cause 30-day hospital readmissions is a metric with which all organizations are concerned due to penalties in payment. It is also complicated by patients with varying socioeconomic status, social determinants of health and vulnerabilities. It is an important topic impacting our communities and nation.
    Your stated PICOT:
For adult patients recently discharged from acute care settings at Kaiser Hospital (P), does implementing a comprehensive hospital readmission reduction program (I) compared to standard discharge procedures (C) reduce
    hospital readmissions (O) within 30 days (T)?
    Recommended modification:
In adult patients discharged within 30-days from the acute care setting, does implementation of a comprehensive patient and caregiver education series, “Successfully Managing Your Chronic Condition”, compared to current processes, reduce 30-day all cause hospital readmissions within eight weeks?
    You state:
    The project will include:
 Developing and distributing educational materials to patients and caregivers.
 Offering training sessions for caregivers.
 Implementing a telehealth monitoring system to track patients’ health status.
 Establishing a care coordination team to oversee patient transitions from hospital to
    home
This list includes four huge items.
Each one could be an MSN capstone project. You cannot tackle all four successfully in this term. Select just the training sessions (which is what I suggested in the revised PICOT).
The hospital, and even your preceptor may want all of these components of a comprehensive program, but that is not realistic if you want to successfully complete this term. You MUST implement an EBP initiative in this term, and you MUST collect, and analyze outcome data for Milestone 3.
Again, an extremely important topic but you need a much more narrowed focus to be successful in this term.
You can include the SWOT chart but be sure to include a few sentences explaining how it impacts your project implementation
You already have the Star Model. You don’t need another model. Also, you MUST cite your sources if you present the Health Belief Model.
You need a defined discharge date–discharged from acute care within the past 30-days

  • “Supporting Patient Autonomy: The Ethical Dilemma of Abortion Decision-Making”

This is a discussion board. In the prompt it asks for my opinion about supporting a patients decision for an abortion even if I don’t agree. I want to highlight on being non biased for patients decisions and be there for them regardless of what I think. I will attach the prompt and the page in the book that it mentions as well as the book cover to be used for citing it as a source. 2 sources + are required
