Your assignment is to compare “competing” persuasive
strategies to determine which is more effective to your partner. You will choose two print ads
that you believe display “competing” persuasive strategies discussed in that
module. This means that these topics
must be related somehow, and it should be difficult to do both strategies at
one time. For example, you might see
ethos, logos, and pathos being discussed in Module 1. This could be a good topic because they are
similar ideas and one of them could be featured over another in any given
ad. Obviously, these three things will
almost always occur together, so the idea of “competing” strategies is open for
interpretation. As long as they are
related by topic (i.e. different theories, different parts of one theory,
similar topic, etc.), then I will be happy with the topic.
You will send the two ads to your partner with enough time
to get a response from them and write your paper before the module closes. Your partner will respond with a short email
telling you which they personally found to be more persuasive and why (without
going into much detail). Your partner
will only speak about how they feel, they do not need to explain why they chose
it from an academic perspective.
I will be grading based on these things:
1.
Your knowledge of the topic
2.
Your application of the topic in what ads you
have chosen
3.
That your chosen ads are targeted toward your
partner
4.
That you include your partner’s response in the
paper (so I can see if I have the same interpretation of their response)
5.
How well you explain your partner’s response
through an academic lens
6.
Various other formatting and organizational
issues – that you use APA formatting, that you do not write over 2 pages, that
your ads fit the module where you submitted the paper, that you’ve included
your print ads (and that you’ve used print ads), etc.
Your papers will be in three parts:
PART I: You will describe the topic that you have chosen and
describe how each ad you chose illustrates that idea. You will include each ad in an appendix at
the end of the paper, after the references.
You will also describe your partner and how these ads are targeted
toward them.
PART II: You will quote, word for word, exactly what your
partner said. Your partner’s response
should be no more than a few sentences, and it should not speak in academic
terms – it should simply be a quick statement describing how they felt about
each ad and which they found more persuasive.
PART III: You will explain why you believe that your partner
felt this way, using concepts from the book and any other references that you
see fit.
The Topic I’ve chosen is Esoteric Forms of Persuasion. You can make up the perspective of the other person (partner) for the assignment.

“Globalization and the Changing Landscape of International Business: Lessons Learned and Opportunities Ahead” Title: Navigating the Global Market: Lessons Learned, Opportunities and Threats, and Recommendations for Growth
Part1) Write a short answer the below question
We are not the same, but we are equal!
As much as we would like to think the world is getting smaller, and cultures and trends are getting more universal, the reality is telling us otherwise. Cultures persist, and the socioeconomic walls are growing within and among nations.
What will you do first, as an international business entrepreneur or multinational corporation manager, when designing a human resource strategy for a foreign market? Pick a country, and state one unique trait that the labor force has that must be incorporated in the human resource management manual.
Part2) Write a short comments about the answers of two students
Student1_Joshua)
Hello Professor,
This is an interesting question. On the surface you would think, why not? if everything was data driven than in a perfect world we would be getting the best results. But we do not live in a perfect world. We need to ask where this data is coming from. If you were getting data from. Because we cannot trust the institutions that are supposed to be looking out for our best interest I do not believe that we should be using data to soley dictate our decisions.
when looking at this from a business standpoint, I do think that it makes more sense, but it still should not be “soley” used to make decisions. looking at the data is incredibly important and can help analyze the past and predict the future so it is crucial to the decision-making process, but even with that, data can be interpreted differently, and different conclusions can be drawn. this is amplified the more complex your subject matter is. There needs to be a human element kept in the decision-making process.

As an international business entrepreneur or multinational corporation manager, I will first simplify recruitment and onboarding when designing a human resource strategy for a foreign market. The recruitment process is about finding people with appropriate qualifications for a job description on a worldwide spectrum. There are complexities in the hiring process because certifications and educational requirements vary depending on the country. Bargaining salaries, making job offers, and generating contracts must be done with precision to secure employee retention is high. Onboarding will also need to include employee orientation methods that meet the needs of global networks.
I pick France as a country. Cultural alignment is one unique trait that the labor force has that must be incorporated in the human resource management manual. French work culture values work-life balance. In addition, policies addressing data privacy and inclusivity are important. Successful policy development involves collaboration with employees, fostering a sense of ownership and engagement.

Lessons Learned and Opportunities Ahead
Overview and Insights
The world of today is the product of yesterday and is the breeder for the world tomorrow!
Globalization was a certain consequence of the Industrial Revolution, and its growth was the consequence of technological advancements. Economic specialization and the expansion of international trade are the consequences of globalization. And the fast growth of exchange among humans in different continents was a consequence of the internet. And the internet and the long list of social interaction applications that it offers via smartphones has narrowed the cultural understanding gaps among various nations and has produced a generation of consumers (Gen Z) that are more similar in their attitude and outlooks than any other group of consumers. So, have we become a “global village” where everyone loves everyone, and everyone looks like everyone else, and everyone has the same resources and opportunities like everyone else in the world? Can we ignore cultural, social, political, and legal barriers? Can we ditch bad governments and stick with the better ones in other countries and choose their ways of life? Can we sell whatever we want whenever we want to sell it wherever we wish to sell it? Has the world and its population, politics, and globalization stopped evolving? What else is on the horizon?
It was much easier to answer those questions before the beginning of the year 2020—in other words, before COVID-19 hit the world. Did globalization help to overcome the pandemic? Or did it make it worse? In what ways? And what to watch for? And what to be hopeful for? What to avoid? And what to take advantage of in the international market?
The above are among many questions that international business adventurists need to find answers for before they venture into the global market. Opportunities have evolved, but so have risks!

Title: “Assessing the Validity and Reliability of a Scale for Measuring Complex Concepts: A Case Study on Stress, Discrimination, and Quality of Life”
Quantitative research is the process of collecting and analyzing numerical data. It can be used to find patterns and averages, make predictions, test causal relationships, and generalize results to wider populations.
The third step of the research process is designing the study and collecting data. The most common method for collecting quantitative data is the survey or questionnaire. In this module, you will learn about using a validated scale to collect accurate information. Then you will draft a survey instrument for your Scholar Practitioner Project.
Complex concepts like stress, discrimination, and quality of life can be difficult to measure. For these issues, you cannot ask just one question. You must ask multiple questions, in different ways. A validated scale is a series of questions about a concept that has been proven to work in the field because it has been tested for reliability and validity and retested in a variety of settings and populations. Examination of a validated scale can assist you in wording questions for a survey instrument, determining the appropriate order of questions, and understanding levels of measurement (ordinal, categorical, and/or continuous) that are used to measure a complex concept.
The Assignment
Using the scale handout provided, address the following: Describe the primary concepts being explored.
Identify levels of measurement for each item (categorical, ordinal, continuous).
Evaluate reliability and validity of the scale. You will need to do research in scientific literature to evaluate findings from studies that have used this scale.
Evaluate strengths and limitations of the scale.
Explain changes that might be needed to use the scale in a developing versus a developed country. -
“Exploring the Portrayal of Mental Illness in Popular Media: A Critical Analysis of [Movie/TV Show Name]”
Paper Guidelines
In this course we talk about how psychopathology is portrayed in our society and how this affects the lives of those with mental illnesses. Because most people don’t have expertise in abnormal psychology, public perceptions about psychopathology are strongly influenced by the media, including popular movies and television. Information presented in the media can be sympathetic and enlightening, or can perpetuate the stigma often associated with mental illness. This stigma limits opportunities for individuals with mental illnesses and often prevents them from seeking appropriate help. For this assignment, you will critically evaluate the accuracy of information recently presented in the movies or on TV on some form of psychopathology, and discuss how this presentation might influence public opinion.
Mental Illness in the Movies and on TV”
One of the most visible places to find examples of mental illness is in movies or on TV. This assignment will involve watching a popular film or TV show that depicts some form of psychopathology. In your paper, you will provide a comprehensive diagnosis of the character with the disorder, and discuss his/her symptoms, treatment, and as the mental health profession in general. Finally, you will be asked to discuss the film’s characterization in light of the current understanding of this disorder.
Paper Guidelines
1. Choose a recent movie or television show that has a character with a mental illness
2. The paper should have at least X sections:
a. Introductory Paragraph:
i. Introduce the movie and character you will be presenting
ii. Brief description of movie and character (1 paragraph max)
iii. Identify the primary diagnosis of the character
b. Provide an overview of the disorder including age of onset, course (does it last a short time or is it a lifetime illness?), prevalence etc..
c. Research that explains the etiology (the origins/cause) of the disorder
d. Research on the types of treatment for the disorder. Parts b-d of the paper should be approximately 2 pages double spaced and should be in APA style. Please use a minimum three peer reviewed references (which should be cited in APA style).
e. List symptoms for primary diagnosis using DSM 5 criteria and explain what character did (i.e. behavior) to qualify to have those symptoms
f. Discuss portrayal of disorder in movie. Was it realistic? What was not realistic? Was anything mentioned about treatment? If so, what?
g. Conclusion
h. References (minimum 3) in APA style on a separate page with the title References at the top of the page.
3. Paper should be 6-8 pages in length double spaced 12 point font and 1 inch margins.. -
