Reflections are supposed to give you exposure to writings about specific topics.  They are designed to provide you with experience at analyzing and critiquing academic research and theory, which is needed in developing informed ideological positions.  Therefore, within a reflection you should discuss and cite all the readings assigned within a specific learning module, any videos provided in Blackboard, and explain the relevance of the reading in relation to your own work experiences.  You should spend the majority of your reflection critiquing the articles. However, I am also interested in whether or not you agree with the assertions the authors are making, and why. Your reflection should be a minimum of 900 words. 

Project Management
You are the project manager and need to compose an SOW for clients who want you to develop a Kickstarter.com site for their project, as discussed in the chapter.
Start off by composing an SOW using a standard SOW template that you found and downloaded from the Internet. Use Tom’s Planner (https://www.tomsplanner.com) or other free Gantt chart software to create a Gantt chart for your project. Share your Gantt chart for the project as an attachment and as an image – discuss how a Gantt chart can improve projects that you work on.
Assume that after your clients review your SOW and Gantt chart, they request that you discount the price 20%. Based on the triple constraints, discuss how you would respond?
Discuss the concepts, principles, and theories from your textbook. Cite your textbooks and cite any other sources if appropriate. 

You are a Consulting Recruiter with XYZ Recruitment, Inc. You have been contracted by “State University” to assist them with the recruitment and selection of a Project Associate for the university. A job description for this position is attached to assist you with the development of your recruitment plan.
For this assignment, create a recruitment grid (see attached template) and a PowerPoint presentation for the HR team of the university that details your recruitment strategy, description, and tactics. Your presentation must be a minimum of 12 slides, and no more than 15 substantive slides. For it to count as a slide, the speaker notes must have at least 75 words.
Submission Instructions: Submit your work in the attached template, including a recruitment grid and a separate PPT presentation of the plan (include supporting references and at least one citation for each reference). Use the Notes section of the presentation.
Use the attached excel sheet as a guide for the recruitment grid portion of your assignment.  You should submit something similar detailing a tool that could be used in the selection of an employee to fill the role of the job description attached.  You will need to fill in the highlighted areas (essential and desirable qualifications of the job).  You can include more that 4 requirements in each area if you like.  You can adjust the tool to best fit the role to be filled.
Include instructions in the matrix on how to use the tool (revise instruction on the sample template).

Be sure to advise that you have completed the Excel Budget and what you learned from the Experience.  The Excel budget exercise is a key part of this assignment, and your instructor will be looking for evidence that it has been completed and the spending/savings analyzed in some detail. Then address the following bullet points in your essay:
Does my (our) income exceed your expenses?
If so, how much are you saving each month, and is it enough? How do you know it is enough?
If not, what are your goals for addressing the deficit (i.e., job change, cut back on expenses, etc.)
How is my (our) short-term savings—if I (we) had an emergency, would we have enough in savings to handle the situation?
Why is a savings account important? Research how much you should keep in short-term savings. What are your goals for long-term savings?
What advice do you have for the class regarding how to accumulate savings?
What else did you learn from this budgeting exercise that could help you and/or your family finances going forward?
Write a 2-4 page paper (excluding title & Reference pages) that addresses these questions after completing your budget worksheet. The worksheet is an important element of this Assignment; use it to guide your answers to these four question areas.

Instructions
Each student will choose either a memoir or a biography related to a leader’s journey. The student will write a paper, detailing the journey and lessons learned and applying those lessons to the student’s own future in leadership. What individuals influenced this leader, and in what ways? What major challenges and/or defining moments did the leader face? How did these form the leader? Using examples from class content, evaluate the leader’s performance. Where did they fall short? Where did they soar? The student will present their final paper in a short format.

The Course Project Scenario
In this course, you are introduced to a complex project scenario as follows:
You have been assigned to be the project manager for the facility, equipment, and business system upgrade of a call center. 
This requires
moving all existing call center stations to a newer, larger facility;
installing and testing a high-speed, high-capacity Wi-Fi network in the new facility;
upgrading workstations so that they include wireless capability;
installing a new call center management software; and
converting a legacy proprietary business system with a customer relationship management (CRM) application to a new business system.
In this project scenario, time is of the essence. The project sponsor requires that the project take no longer than 6 months to complete. Further, the budget is constrained so that the number of people assigned to the project is very limited and includes the following:

In this assignment, you will use this scenario to identify the project requirements, define the project scope using a work breakdown structure (WBS), and define the activities required to produce project deliverables.
Background
MobileGo is a small company that sells prepaid mobile phones in selected markets. Its primary sales and service channel is carried out over the internet and by phone. Sales and service has been supported with a team of 36 customer service representatives in a small building. Customers, accounts, and all business functions have traditionally been managed by a proprietary software application using in-house servers that was contracted out early in the founding of the company. All workstations currently connect to the internet and the internal servers supporting the legacy business system and office applications. This is a problem because the company had to move workstations to different parts of the building as the company has grown (thereby making network wiring out of control). The company has grown 150% over the last 5 years and as a result, the systems, the building, and the overall infrastructure have become outgrown. The company has therefore recognized the need to move to a new location and upgrade workstations and systems. The immediate need is to expand from 36 stations to 50 with the plan to triple that number within the next 3 years. The immediate challenges are little funding and few people to spare for this set of initiatives. With multiple activities occurring at once and severe constraints on schedule and resources, it is acknowledged that this is a highly complex project.
The Assignment
You have been assigned as the overall project manager for this important initiative. Your supporting team consists of 14 members (not counting contractors), including two outside consultants supporting the business system and wireless upgrade. Now that you have been given this important assignment, here are your next steps.
6.  Identify what you deem to be the client requirements.
7.  Using the requirements list, create a work breakdown structure (WBS) that identifies all project deliverables.
8.  Identify the activities (tasks) required to produce each project deliverable.
9.  When identifying project activities, highlight each that may be expected to require the same resources to be carried out in parallel. These highlights will be your first clue that the management of the project can be expected to require some complex maneuvering.
Guidance notes: The client requirements should be four pages in length to summarize. You must use at least one outside source that is peer-reviewed or academic in nature from the CSU Online Library. Draw upon the high-level project scenario and, in addition, feel free to draw upon your own experience or research when developing the requirements. Also, remember that the WBS includes deliverables only rather than activities. While the WBS may be written in either a graphical or indented outline form, the indented outline may be a better approach. This is because the activities, once identified, may be easily layered over the project deliverables when using the outline form.
Submit the requirements summary in a Word document. The WBS and Activity Identification exercise may be completed using either Word or Excel.
