  • “Exploring Ethical Leadership: A Reflection and Analysis of Personal Values and Decision-Making through the Ethical Lens Inventory”

    INTRODUCTION
Leadership is often defined as the ability to influence people. An effective ethical leader guides an organization and its employees to accomplish organizational goals. In the same vein, an unethical leader can guide an organization and its employees to act unethically, harming both the organization and the stakeholders. Being a leader is an exploration, a reflection, and a test of your leadership values. Seeking understanding of how you resolve ethical dilemmas, taking inventory of where an ethical weakness may lie, and examining the traits of an ethical leader helps you define, shape, and apply an ethical decision-making framework, while also taking into consideration all stakeholders who may be affected by your decisions.
For this task, you will respond to an ethical situation as well as analyze the results of the Ethical Lens Inventory (ELI), which should be completed in the course. This task focuses on you as a leader by helping you to define, refine, and test your ethical boundaries through self-reflection and analysis.
    SCENARIO
You are a sales representative for a medical device company that manufactures artificial joints. Your company has developed an artificial knee joint that is less expensive than the competition and will dramatically reduce healing time for patients. However, it is also known to produce a serious and potentially lethal infection in a small percentage of patients. The company refuses to disclose this potential side effect. You feel you have a duty to divulge this issue, but you signed a nondisclosure agreement when you were hired and worry about possible repercussions.
    A.  Select a nonfictional leader who you feel has exhibited exemplary ethical conduct and do the following:
    1.  Discuss two ethical traits your chosen leader has demonstrated.
    2.  Explain how your chosen leader has exhibited ethical conduct.
Note: The chosen leader can be someone you know personally or someone famous.
    B.  Compare the deontological and consequentialist perspectives and how each perspective would approach the dilemma from the scenario.
    C.  Identify and explain which level of cognitive moral development (i.e., preconventional, conventional, or postconventional) is represented in the scenario for each of the following questions:
    •  Which action would most likely serve the greater good in society?
    •  If I reveal this information, will I get into trouble and possibly even lose my job?
    •  Which action best aligns with my long-held belief in the principle of justice?
    •  What do the laws say, and what would a law-abiding citizen do?
    •  If I keep quiet, will I get some sort of reward?
    D.  Reflect on your Ethical Lens Inventory (ELI) by doing the following:
    1.  Explain your preferred ethical lens, relevant to the ELI.
    a.  Analyze whether you have the same preferred lens in different settings (e.g., work, personal, social).
    2.  Explain one of your primary values and one classical virtue from the ELI.
Note: If you are a Center Perspective, choose any primary value.
    a.  Compare your primary value from part D2 with one of your own self-identified or personal values. Then compare your classical virtue from part D2 with a different self-identified or personal value.
Note: Examples of personal values can be found in the attached “Clarifying Your Values” chart.
    3.  Describe one of the following from your ELI:
    •  blind spot
    •  risk
    •  double standard
    •  vice
    a.  Discuss two steps you can take to mitigate the blind spot, risk, double standard, or vice described in part D3 in order to make better ethical decisions in the future.
    4.  Discuss how the information from your ELI could be applied to an ethical situation in the workplace.

  • Project Methodology and Risks for a Cutting-Edge Technology Project For this project, I would recommend using an Agile methodology, specifically Scrum, due to the untested nature of the cutting-edge technology. This approach allows for flexibility and adapt

You have been assigned PM responsibility for a product development project using untested cutting-
edge technology that has the potential to disrupt the industry. The project owner will be the Mobile
Devices Group. This project is part of the product R&D Department within a large, publicly traded
company that is projectized and experienced in running projects.
Respond to the following prompt in a minimum of 175 words:
Determine the project methodology you will use for this project.
Identify the EEFs and OPAs that you may be subject to on such a project.
While filling out the Risk section of the Project Charter, determine some risks that could affect this project.

committee to move this project from the Initiating Phase to the Planning Phase.

  • Title: “Effective Management Skills in Action: A Case Study Analysis”

Read the case study that is provided & using the Management Skills Topics file, write a 7-8 page paper to elborate on the topic.

  • “CS Business Integration Plan: Diagnosing and Intervening for Sustainability Success” “Promoting Gender Equality and Ethical Practices in Corporate Sustainability: A Comprehensive Organizational Diagnosis and Change Plan”

CS Business Integration Plan: Diagnosis and Intervention Plan
The purpose of this project is to give your team an opportunity to put all your learnings in this class into ‘theory to practice’ mode and application. In essence, your team will act as consultants to a firm internal to your team (i.e. a firm where a group member is employed and is facing a CS dilemma). Following all of the concepts, theories, and overarching themes learned and discussed in this class, your team is asked to conduct an organizational diagnosis of the chosen firm.
The focus of the diagnosis should be to determine where the organization lies on the sustainability continuum described by Benn et al (2019), Ideally, we want to conduct this analysis on firms experiencing: rejection, non-responsiveness, compliance, and some level of efficiency, BUT NOT strategic proactivity, or sustaining stages – as they have already reached their CS ultimum. The team should gather evidence to support their diagnosis, including company reports, interviews with management, and descriptions of the company as described in the business press. The firm your team chooses can be external to the group, or internal if one of the group members is employed there.
The second part of the assignment is to design an intervention to take the organization to the next level (e.g., from compliance to efficiency, or beyond). How would you guide the organization through the change process? (draw here both from Benn et al., 2019; and Spector 2013) Teams should identify which models of change or transformation would best help the organization’s overall movement toward sustainability, and then use this plan to create a roadmap for change. This roadmap should be a visual depiction of the plan that you can share with the people who will be involved in making the change happen.
Teams should analyze the forces that may contribute to the organization’s evolutionary (incremental) and/or revolutionary (transformational) path of change, as well as the forces that may work against the change (e.g., what are the barriers? Where do you expect resistance to change?). Your diagnosis and change intervention should include recommendations for making the change “stick.”
    Instructions: Recommended Project Outline
(Adapted from ADM 4317, Daina Mazutis, University of Ottowa)
Cover Page with Title of Project, Authors’ Names and Contact Info for every group member.
Executive Summary/or Abstract (1 page max): Provide a brief, succinct statement of the issue, the methods of your data collection, and your key findings, conclusions, and recommendations. A good executive summary provides a clear synopsis of your recommendations and includes a very brief statement on methodology used to justify your conclusions. The executive summary condenses the entire report into a mini version for those who will not read the full report. Hint: Write this last. Develop and share an overarching question, or set of 3 questions, which your team will then answer in the Conclusion (keep the audience intrigued…). Examples of overarching questions can include:
What motivated the firm to implement sustainability strategies and programs?
How do firms in this industry and sector accomplish this?
What were the reported barriers to integration? What drove the integration?
Are SDGs currently being addressed? Are they prioritized based on local needs?
Are Planetary Boundaries (PBs) being addressed in their sustainability reports?
    Table of Contents
Overview of Target Organization (1-2 pages): What is the nature of the business or service provided by the organization? What is its history and mission? Are SDGs being integrated/addressed by this firm/organization? Are the SDGs prioritized based on local needs? Are SDGs being reported in their CSR/Sustainability communications? More specifically: does the firm/organization have a diversity and inclusion program in place? Is gender equity being addressed? What is the female manager count? How many women have a seat on the corporate board? What is the ethical climate like among management? Are ethics polices mentioned in their CSR reports? Please be very specific about these.
Organizational Diagnosis and Analysis (4-6 pages): Provide data to document your analysis of where your organization is in terms of Benn et al.’s sustainability phases. Describe data obtained from company CSR/CS/Sustainability reports, interviews with management or other key stakeholders, and descriptions of the organization as described in the press. Include any survey or checklists that you use to assess the level of sustainability progress. Use appendices if it makes sense. Include an analysis of the results of your diagnosis. Model your project write-up after a good consulting report, that is, one that would include graphs, charts, visuals, statistics, etc. that allow the reader to grasp the key findings quickly. Try to find ways to summarize the significant findings from your data analysis (e.g., interviews, surveys) in a compelling way.
CS Integration: Recommendation(s) and Organizational Change Plan (4-6 pages): Based on your analysis, what course of action does your group recommend that the organization take? What and who will need to change? What is your recommended implementation plan (timing, targets, tactics)? Is this a major change from the current ways of working? Are you recommending incremental changes or transformational changes? These will be your CS applications from Benn et al (2019). What recommendations do you offer to raise its gender equality, ethics and inclusive programs? Who (female) do you recommend to be on their corporate board? What type of ethical climate do you suggest the firm follow? What ethics agenda do you recommend?
You will need to also draw from Spector’s (2013) theories of organizational change and ‘theory to practice’ narratives to support your actual change in business model for the firm.  How would you guide the organization through the change process? Which model of change or transformation would best help the organization’s (or sub-unit’s) movement toward sustainability?
Be sure to use this plan to create a roadmap for change. This roadmap should include a visual depiction of the plan that you can share with the people who will be involved in making the change happen. Include a discussion of the forces that may contribute to the organization’s evolutionary (incremental) and/or revolutionary (transformational) path of change, as well as the forces that may work against the change (e.g., What are the barriers? Where do you expect resistance to change? How do youplan to deal with it?). Be sure to include recommendations for making the change “stick.”
Conclusion and Next Steps (1-2 pages): Answer your overarching question (s) from your executive summary/abstract. Also, what do you foresee as the next steps the organization will need to make to move this project forward in the short term? What about the long term? What will be the major challenges and opportunities moving forward? What are the managerial implications for integrating/not going forward with your proposal? Specifically to the SDGs, which should be of concern to the firm/organization and why?
References: APA preferred. Note: I have provided a general outline. Feel free to adapt it to fit your needs. The actual number of sections and the specific headings (and sub-headings) of your paper will depend on the specifics of your project.

  • Title: The Linear Production System: A Case Study on the Production of Nike Shoes

    Individual Assignment
Product research piece: An individually written paper based on the linear production
system. You can choose any product and a company that makes / owns / produces
that product. Explain the steps the product takes through the linear production
system:- Extraction, Production / manufacture, logistics, packaging,
wholesale/retail, use and discard or waste or take back program. Suggest that
you choose a product that is not too complex. Students are free to discuss
their chosen product with me to ensure it is manageable.
The objectives include: to explain the
steps through which the product passes; to identify key ecosystem services upon
which this product is dependent; to explain the risks to the company of these
dependencies; to explain the steps in the journey where the biggest negative
impact occurs; to establish whether the company has recognized its risks and is
doing anything about it – if yes what?; do you think the company is doing
enough, could do more and whether you believe they have identified
opportunities. What more could they do to mitigate these negative impacts? Be
selective and avoid simply describing and please offer your analysis and
    well-reasoned insights.
This piece is to be in Word format and NOT
pdf and not exceed 5 pages and therefore aims to be concise and analytical.

  • Title: Stakeholder Analysis and Ethical Decision Making for a Project in South Africa

Stakeholder analysis is the process of collecting information about any person that will be impacted by (or can impact) your project. Conducting a stakeholder analysis will enable you to identify all your stakeholders as well as their needs and expectations.
    South Africa
Conditions in South Africa are positive in some respects, but not as favorable in economic terms as in Mexico or the Philippines. The prevailing wage in South Africa is about $10/day. Furthermore, there is a strong union movement, meaning that there may be future demands for increases in wages and benefits.
The unions and the government have been working together on health and safety issues and environmental protections. Exposure to toxic chemicals in the workplace is not permitted at as high a level as in Mexico and the Philippines. Although the equipment necessary to reduce toxic chemicals to an acceptable level is not as costly as in the United States, this expense would not be incurred in the other two countries. Furthermore, there are requirements for a solvent recovery system, which also increases operation expenses.
    YOUR TASK:
You have to decide how you would like to proceed. You should state your clear and specific decision of how to proceed after a careful, thoughtful and thorough Stakeholder Analysis. Additionally, you are to analyze your decision according to one of the Ethical Rules as presented in your text.
