For this week’s paper, please choose an article that discusses communication in sport and a sociocultural issue. Remember to connect to course content, including videos and readings.
Students will choose on academic (scholarly journal article) that relates to the readings in the week the paper is assigned. The chosen article must tie to at least two major concepts from the readings. First, students will summarize the chosen article by using 4-6 bullet points. Then, students will write critical analysis of how the article relates and ties into the readings, concepts, theories, terms, and overall aspects of the course. (Students should be able to answer why this article is important? What are the implications and impact of the article?). Then, students should find 1-3 industry (online periodicals or sport news sites) that connect to their chosen article and course concepts from the week and discuss how academic and industry information on the topic is similar and different. Students should pick an article of interest to them (not just an easy one to find). All online students can log into the library to gain full access to articles. I recommend using Google Scholar or Sport Discus to find an article. A full reference list in APA must be provided at the end of the paper. Reviews should be 2-4 pages (including bullet points of the key points in the students’ own words). In-text APA citations should be provided throughout.
